• While it may work out of the box, there’s a few things that aren’t very intuitive. Any customization you may want to make will come at a price, some portions of the support docs are “Paid Members Only” which goes for a pretty hefty price. The WordPress support is scarce (as most are). Maybe if they opened the support docs for all and improved on some things the plugin could become bigger.

    Was 3/5…

As time goes on I realize that this plugin isn’t for me. It litters my debug log with warnings and errors. For whatever reason when a member expires they remove the WordPress role ( versus the membership role ) which messes with any actual WordPress permissions ( and just how WordPress works in general ). After the bad update in 1.8.7 which killed my site ( and many others I’m sure ) I realized it was time to move onto something more stable.

    1/5

    Howdy, thanks for the review.

All of our code is available for free, even our addons. If you need support or customization beyond that, we expect you to have a developer who can use our docs or to be able to pay for our time to support you. Most of the documentation on our site is free. The stuff behind the paywall is typically content that requires follow up from us.

If you search a bit (search my gist and github repos) or ask nicely, you can usually get that code as well.

I realize that having to use “custom code” to get things done can be frustrating, but it’s how we’ve developed the plugin intentionally to make it as flexible as possible.
