this is now fixed in version 1.5.2

the new code has now been updated to use your suggestion and the label tag wraps around the checkbox and text so users can click the text to tick the box

version 1.5.2 is now released

all undefined messages have now been fixed in version 1.5.2

it has better handling of the refer check and can limit the amount of comments someone can have in moderation.

version 1.5.2 appears to fix the issues that users were reporting

I haven’t seen issues with it on any pc browser I’ve tested with on this latest version..

be sure to ask the user for the error code on the error message

I’ve added them to 1.5.2 so it will be easier to track down users who cannot comment

It appears that a lot of users are using cache plugins and not clearing their cache when they upgrade or change settings in the plugin so the comment form is still using the old values which is why people are seen as spammers (the incorrect values are being sent).

I have done another update to the plugin which adds a url to view the page with query args on the url in the error message to help prevent this and added some error codes so the user can tell you what happened.

I suspect that you maybe installed the beta version the new version was did not update the max_mod setting so it was set at 0 during the check

I will update the plugin so this doesn’t happen to someone else

I just tried it on a genesis site and it worked fine with all the email addresses I used so perhaps something else is going on?

try changing the value of the maximum moderated comments number (at the bottom of the settings page)

could you please clear any caches that you may have?

try a test comment using the email address of the user who reported problems and see if it still happens.

it is working on all my test sites and on 2 live sites with no issues for me.

if it does it again on your test comment after clearing your cache plugin (if you use one), please submit a support ticket at https://commentluv.zendesk.com with your URL and the email of the user who was denied.

from version 1.5 it will have a way to combat even the learning bots.. coming soon!
