By not requiring login, comments were more available. With social media plugins, user’s could use FB or Google+ credentials. I understand taking away a user setting is under the mandate to simplify the settings page, but this was previously a separate option and now I can’t control it. Is there something I can do with functions.php?
That’s the missing point. I don’t require users to login to post a comment. But I do require users to login if they want to post to my forum. I wish we had a toggle back again so I didn’t lose this functionality.
I don’t see any reference to login links in the settings of the free version, nor so I see any login option on the menu like I saw in v3. What do you mean by login link? A google search only came up with what I can’t see.
Hello? Is the FlyOut for Login going to be re-added back? Kinda need my mobile users to be able to login so they can post on the bbPress forum.. This is pretty big break..
I see a new version came out today, but this didn’t appear in the release notes.
Just tried another SMTP server in the plugin. The “test” email makes it through just fine, but there is no automatic e-mail as should happen in my contact form. I don’t see any error messages at the SMTP side or any bounce back messages. It’s like contact form didn’t even try to send it.
Then I tried to change to a new SMTP plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/configure-smtp/), and now I am getting results.
Result: There appears to be a conflict with the original SMTP plugin
I should also note the following warning shows up on the screen if the message is initiated by a user not logged into WP:
Warning: array_keys() expects parameter 1 to be array, string given in /home4/ab3585/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/contact-form/grunion-contact-form.php on line 1476
I note the same problem, but I don’t know how long ago it stopped. I don’t think it was that long, but I can’t be sure.
Support discussion has previously told you to use https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ plugin to run tests.
In this case, this is what appear to have broken Jetpack. When it was working, I used this plugin to offload my mail notifications to a 3rd party SMTP server, as my host kept getting blacklisted by other users on the shared server.
Now, if I disable this SMTP plugin, my contact forms work in Jetpack. If it is enabled AND I use SMTP instead of PHP mail() function to send emails, it won’t work.
I note that if I enable SMTP plugin and use PHP mail it DOES work.
I also note that when SMTP settings are on a TEST e-mail from the SMTP plugin works fine.
I hope this helps.
Reset settings in iOS 9 using “Clear History and Website Data”, and now it is working. ?? Wonder what it was stuck on in my phone…
