Thank you — that makes sense.
perfect, thank you
I added the MailPoet yesterday because the Jetpack wasn’t working even after troubleshooting for hours. The MailPoet plugin isn’t the issue.
Thanks
FYI, I got SMTP set up per the recommendation of my host, but that did not solve the problem. (My host spent like an hour troubleshooting this one with no luck.) We disabled/deleted reinstalled, uninstalled other plugins, etc.
I will add that I noticed Jetpack “contact form” wasn’t working on either of my sites a few weeks ago (no emails being sent), and I switched both of my sites to WPForms. I suppose the issue with E-Mail subscriptions may be related (?) but it’s only happening on one of my sites.
I also notice that the “Blog Subscriptions (Jetpack)” widget and the Jetpack “Forms” are not working despite me having “Extra Sidebar Widgets” and “Contact Form” enabled. I have to use the shortcode to get the Subscription form to show up, which isn’t a problem I guess.
Jetpack just seems really buggy rn for some reason.
Issue seems to have resolved with the latest update. THX
Hello. I think when they set up my site they synced my main domain with the mydomain.wordpress.com version. I just disconnected Jetpack, and when I go to reconnect, it keeps redirecting me to the mydomain.wordpress.com, even when I manually change the URL from this to just mydomain.com https://wordpress.com/plans/mydomain.wordpress.com
I wonder if this arrangement affected e-mail somehow for e-mail-only subscribers?
The stats have been syncing on my mydomain.wordpress.com and mydomain.com. The mydomain.wordpress.com is also listed as my “primary site” on wordpress.com, because my domain is hosted elsewhere, even though it was purchased through wordpress.com Not sure if these things have any effect at all, just small differences between the site of mine that is working and the one that isn’t.
To answer your question, yes I’m aware it only works on new posts, and none of the posts were made using duplicator. I was also publishing them through the dashboard on my main domain which was connected to Jetpack. The e-mails are getting sent on new posts for wordpress.com subscribers; the e-mail-only ones are what are giving me issues.
I disconnected Jetpack and reconnected again to my WordPress email. Everything is as it was before. I sent out another test e-mail and it was e-mailed to the wordpress.com subscribers but not the e-mail only subscribers.
FYI, this is the end of the URL it redirects me to when I try to “Subscribe” using the subscribe form: form https://mydomain.com/follow-etc/?subscribe=error#subscribe-blog-1
Here is the live link of the subscribe form: https://tinyurl.com/mv7ru6p5
Another piece of info. The “follow” form IS working on my mydomain.wordpress.com That site is private, but some version of Jetpack is connected. It also doesn’t have the stats for e-mail subscribers synced, so the amount of subscribers is single digits, even though the “Site Views” is updated when I click on it in the WordPress.com control panel.
I checked on my other blog and the e-mail-only subscribers are receiving new content. Same theme, same plugins, same server, etc., so the issue is unique to my current one.
There also seems to be an error when users try to subscribe via e-mail using the contact form.
I verified it’s not a plugin conflict, but yeah, I guess it’s good to be prepared. I really like the “Blog Posts” blog from here.. a lot better than other ones I’ve used. But there are many others, so I will do some digging if need be. Right now, I am using an older version of this plugin that still works: 3.30687. They’ve released like 5-7 updates in a short period of time since then, but none resolve the issue.
Got you. I’m going to stay on the older version until it resolves. The update from today didn’t fix it.

In reply to: [Apostrophe] Apostrophe 2 WordPress Theme UpdateThanks, that helps a lot. Yeah, I wasn’t really interested in designing my own theme, per se, but I may learn in the absence of an alternative.

In reply to: [Apostrophe] Apostrophe 2 WordPress Theme UpdateThanks for your reply. Just now seeing it.
Do you know if Apostrophe 2 will be updated to support these new features or just kept current as is?
As I understand, relatively few themes currently support the FSE. I haven’t seen any that look remotely suitable for a magazine-style blog.
You are on the wrong support forum. Check out the one on WordPress.com This forum is for self-hosted www.ads-software.com sites
FYI, I went and installed an older version. The last old version that works is 3.30687. None of the four updates after that work. You can access older versions by going to the plugin page on wordpress.com, pressing “Advanced View” and you will see a download tab. Then go to plugins in the WP panel, and click “upload.”
In the mean time, you can install this version and make edits. This plugin is made for WordPress.com (although it’s available for everyone..) so I don’t know how much they care about fixing our issues.

I have this same issue that I posted my own review on. Pages still load fine, but can’t edit them at all (or create new ones), and can’t edit the Blog Posts block either (Blog Posts is a feature of this app that I use on homepage, etc.) It has nothing to do with a plugin conflict / theme and everything to do with a recent update (I ran multiple tests).
Hopefully, they fix this soon, because this is a very cool plugin otherwise. I will also update my review to 5 stars once that happens.
I’m happing the same issue with the WordPress.com Editing Toolkit plugin. The new update messed things up (I disabled all other plugins. and my theme is a WordPress.com theme. all indicators point to the update).
