Thank you for the response. I tried added the bit of code you suggested and I was able to update about 1/4 of the plugins on the page, while the remaining 3/4 still produced the same error.
Here is an example of the error I am recieving:
Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wordpress-seo.1.7.1.zip…
Unpacking the update…
Installing the latest version…
Removing the old version of the plugin…
Plugin update failed.
I also narrowed down the “Edit/Add Link” button issue to the WP Multibyte Patch plugin. It came with the installation and it just was getting activated. Once I removed that plugin the issue went away. It did not however correct the SEO by Yoast plugin issue.
