OK I’ve uploaded and activated the Development Version plugin, but when I click “View Status” I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘;’ in [WEBSITE ADDRESS REPLACED]/public_html/design/wp-content/plugins/wponlinebackup/include/bootstrap.php on line 1670

I checked back through my backup archives and found that some of them wouldn’t unzip either, though some of them did.

I’ve downgraded to CF3.1.1 (WP 3.4.1) and forms are working again … can download CF 3.1.1. from here:

To be clear, I’ve copied and pasted the EXACT shortcode, so that isn’t the issue … has anyone else encountered this?

I have done a manual WP installation before, and set up the mySQL database through cPanel, and so forth so I think I should be OK with this now.

And when the time comes to go live, do you normally relocate the WP file structure into the root, or use some kind of redirect in the site root and keep the WP installation in the subdirectory?

Any advantages\disadvantages for either method you’ve encountered?
