Guess what? Encountered this error again today?

I deleted the plugin and tried to reinstall, but still got same error and original thread:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”request.body[newWhite’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE), expecting ‘]’ in /home/domain.tld/public_html/wp-content/wflogs/rules.php on line 73

what do I need to do to resolve this for our website? we are paying for the plugin, but cannot use if I dont know how to fix.

everything is up to date – WordPress Version 4.7.1

have you CHMOD the uploads folder to 777?

also make sure all sub-folders are CHMOD 777

information will not be lost .. 2.8.4 only replaces he WP core files .. so your themes are protected and any uploads you have made ..

as long as you do not delete the files, it will simply overwrite the necessary files …

i am sure there is a workaround, but from my experience, 2.8.4 makes it EASY!!

looks like there something wrong with your theme.

does the classic or default theme work?

if so – it is your theme .. and not WP

make sure you have 2.8.4 …

you can export as XML file under the Tools >> Export >>

once you have installed 2.8.4 on new domain, simply use Tools >> Import …

some files and plugins you will need to install as well as any images of files you have uploaded .. these do not transfer over ..

you will probably need to remove the comment code from the post and pages.

FOUND IT ..

Somehow the column view, under Screen options was not selected and I have made sure it appears in 2 columns ..

my client is full aware of the theme i am using, and all i am acting is the middle man in installing the theme for their immediate use. my client is non-profit and i am honestly charging him the club price, and the modifications he is having me to make since he is not knowledgeable of PHP. i am not trying to act as though i designed this theme from ground up and charging him $500 .. when the membership on costs $75 …

however, i am not exactly following what you mean .. i am looking a the page.php code right now … could you help to explain what you are saying so i could fix and see if it works?
