In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] Draw circles hotspotHi @qccodes thanks for getting in touch. We will be reworking the drawing tool and adding circle shapes to Draw Attention this year. It requires rewriting a portion of our code and it is probably still a few months out, but we will be adding it. Thanks for supporting the plugin, and sorry it isn’t out already. I know it’s tedious to draw circles now and they don’t look great
Thanks,

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] First user, dont workHi @carldavidcarlstrom this sounds like a general javascript error (possibly one of the plugins you have installed is incompatible with WordPress 5.7). Any javascript error can cause the interface to break. We’d recommend trying the troubleshooting plugin we created:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/plugin-detective/Just mark Draw Attention as a required plugin, and go through the troubleshooting steps to tell Plugin Detective if the image upload is working or broken at each step. The plugin is quick and relatively safe, but we recommend running this on a staging site if possible.
You can also contact our Pro support at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot this problem further.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] Site DownHi @hothoodie sorry about about that, our SSL certificate expired, but we have fixed the issue and the website is back up now
Please let us know if you have any further trouble!
Thanks,
NathanHi @kenrogers we don’t support upload/photo fields in our customer information fields unfortunately. If you’re looking for a way to do this, our Plus edition (this is a paid option) does have a Gravity Forms integration that would let you build a full-featured form with appointment scheduling as part of it. This is a detailed example of how you could use the two plugins together:

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
NathanHi @troley – I actually just went ahead and released this version now rather than waiting to bundle more features later this week. So you should see SSA v1.4.4.2 available in your WordPress dashboard now as an update.
Does the upcoming appointments module translates successfully for you after updating?
Thanks,
NathanHi @troley, good news ?? We were able to improve the translation of the date in the upcoming appointments module. We have it in our current beta release so it will be included in the official v1.4.4.2 update later this week!
Please let us know if you have any other questions
Thanks,

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] No Follow linksHi @scottphelps I don’t think we actually have a way to do that now but it’s a good idea and I can try adding a PHP filter to allow it in an upcoming release. Would you want that for every link or only certain ones?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] Very slow page loadHi @stirlingite do the other pages on your site slow down when Draw Attention is enabled too? or just the page with the image on it? If you can contact our pro support team at [email protected] we’ll be happy to dive into some more details with you too
Thanks,
NathanHi @tonibird was Draw Attention the only plugin that got updated? Would you mind providing the full list of plugins active on your site at the moment (you can email this info privately to our pro support at [email protected] if you prefer)? We are running Elementor Pro on a couple of our test sites and haven’t seen an issue, but we’d like to get it resolved.
Thanks,
NathanHi @timfl thanks for getting in touch about this. Would you mind sending the URL of the page you’re testing by emailing us [email protected]? Do you have iframes lazy loading currently? There are a few plugins that make that pretty easy, like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/rocket-lazy-load/
Thanks,
NathanHi @joeballa thank you for reporting this, we’re looking at this right now to see what’s causing the error. At a glance, it’s related to the CMB2 library that we rely on. Could you please share what version of PHP you have running on your site and a list of other plugins you have active? You can also send this information to us privately at [email protected]
Thanks,
NathanHi there, yes you can upgrade safely without losing any of your settings or clickable areas ??
Hi @jackmattison we do offer that functionality in our Pro Version with the “Always show hotspots for this image”. We have more details here: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/free-vs-pro/
and an example here:
https://wpdrawattention.com/document/sold-vs-available/If you’re looking to make code changes yourself, the function to modify would be the
shortcode()
insidepublic/class-draw-attention.php
and quite a few modifications to the javascript files.Best,
NathanHi @testwpapps sorry for any confusion, the Gravity Forms field is part of the SSA Plus edition available on our website https://simplyscheduleappointments.com. Please contact us at [email protected] with any follow-up questions and our pro support team will be happy to help
Thanks,
NathanmHi @semplicewebsite, there unfortunately isn’t an easy way to do this with code because of the way we built the customer information fields. We want to refactor that code so we can make it easy to add a consent checkbox in the free version but there isn’t an easy way for us to do that before we make some structural changes.
I’m definitely not a lawyer, but I have spent a lot of time learning about and dealing with GDPR since it was introduced. I believe you can accept bookings and be GDPR compliant without a checkbox (not for marketing and adding to your newsletter, but clicking the button to book an appointment shows clear intent to receive transactional emails about the appointment). For example, if you sell a product with e-commerce, you’re allowed to send order confirmations and shipment/tracking information without any checkboxes. To add to the newsletter, of course, requires additional (opt-in checkbox) consent.
There seems to be pretty good consensus around this:
* https://www.termsfeed.com/blog/gdpr-consent/ underThe New Definition of Valid Consent
. TermsFeed is a reputable legal company.* https://www.mailerlite.com/blog/how-to-create-opt-in-forms-that-still-work-under-gdpr several live examples from big companies under
How to ask for consent to one thing
* https://thrivethemes.com/gdpr-for-email-marketing/ under
The Checkbox Myth
sectionWe don’t want to force our users to upgrade to just to be GDPR compliant, I do believe when visitors book an appointment they give clear consent to receive a confirmation email (again, not for marketing/newsletter purposes of course).
All that said… if I could simply give you a code snippet to add the checkbox in the free edition, I would ?? We just have some structural work to do before that would be possible.
Please get in touch with any further questions, you can email us directly at [email protected]
Thanks,
Nathan
