The wordpress theme link has many fine themes in it.

There are search buttons all over wordpress, if you type in keywords on what your looking for it would help.

Sounds like a buggy Widget/Plugin.
Deactivate one at a time and check your page. When the buggy one gets deactivated, you can ask questions from there.

Either that or just start at the first theme and click until you find the one you want.

Who’s your hosting provider? You should at least have 4.2.2 I believe.

Depending on what server chmod ALL files to 777 or 755. You can tell it’s wrong if your server redirects.
After the install, chmod wp-config.php to 644
