Thanks, I was a bit confused.
I initially pasted the CSS code in the customizer but it didn’t do anything that I could see. After that I inserted it as a class.

I’ve put it back in the customizer and I still don’t see the hover effect.

I managed to sort it out by editing the Page template’s padding settings.
