It seem that this is an anomaly at this point. I took an old back up and cloned the site. Then, I ran all updates and changes that have happened in the time period before i noticed the problem, but everything was fine on the clone site. I checked the database and it has also been changed. all event location names seem to be lost. Unfortunately most of the events were added the day after I ran the backup so it is all lost unless the location names are listed in an additional directory.
