In reply to: [Alpha Cache] [Plugin: Alpha Cache] Really messes up my page display at timesThanks for the response. I have found what works for me and unfortunately I am not going to have time to go back in and test the new version. I will go ahead and mark this resolved.

In reply to: [Social Bookmarks] [Plugin: Artiss Social Bookmarks] No settings, no buttonsAhh yes; that info is right there in the Other Notes. Thanks, David.
Okay, that works. Thank you for your response.
I just happened to use this just recently, and it did work for me.
J0SiE, thank you for your response. Sorry, I just moved on and didn’t come back to check on this. (I happened to catch it now because of the recent response.
As for images displaying, as far as I know, WordPress does not automatically display images of excerpts. For that you need another plugin such as Thumbnail For Excerpts.
I’m impressed.
I’m not sure what I missed the first time, but changing the number in the order box does indeed change the order in the list. One caveat: for me to move an item to first on the list, I needed to enter the number 0. Entering 1 moved it to the second position (Entering 1 a second time did move it to first). But that’s not a major problem, it works fine.
It does now work on mobile devices, yea!
You have picked some good breaking points, so it looks good in a variety of sizes. The aspect ratio on small screens looks a little weird as the screen converts into a square. But the only way to keep the proper aspect ratio would be to make the height of the screen really short, which doesn’t give you much screen to view, so this is just a trade-off, and it really doesn’t look too bad.
Thank you for continuing to develop this plugin. It can now be used in all settings.

In reply to: [My Post Order] [Plugin: My Post Order] It just did not workThanks Kapil for your continuing support.
I’m planning a Sunday official launch of this site so right now I cannot do too much extra stuff.
I did want to let you know that the My Post Order widget does not show up in my widgets area with the plugin activated in my setup.
One thing I failed to mention above is that that those posts from one category showing up in another category archive actually happened when I first put that code you suggested in the category.php file, so something more fundamental is going on here.
For now, I am pretty happy with how things are shaping up.
I will check back here next week.

In reply to: Bulk edit – delete categories from many postsJust looking at it intuitively, when I saw that none of the categories were checked, I thought that whatever I had checked or unchecked was what all of the selected posts would have when updated.
Alas, this is not the case. For me, that would be the ideal.
The only plugin that I have found that allows you to have that kind of control is Mass set Categories:
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/mass-set-post-categories/It shows an array of all of your categories at the top and then each of your posts below it in the normal reverse chronological order along with all of the categories for each post. The categories that are currently associated with the posts are checked, and you can check or uncheck what you want and the plugin makes those changes when you click submit, either individually or for a number of posts.
Its biggest drawback is that there is no way to filter or search the posts. So if you have hundreds of posts, you obviously have a very long list to go through. The browser’s search function can be of great help in this regard.
Thanks for responding.
At this point I have found a solution that works for me and will continue to use it.
I am sure it must have just been something in my setup. Anyway, thanks for the time you put in to develop this plugin for the WordPress community.
Thanks for your support.
I gave it a quick run through. This time I ran it on a parent theme to eliminate extra possible css issues.
When setting it up, I added too many rows to input the videos, and was surprised that there was no way to delete the rows. It looks like once you have added a row to put media into, by golly you are then required to put media there. So I made stuff up to fill in the spaces, because it was not going to let me go any further until I filled in those required spots. (I then deleted them after the fact; but I had to search to find how to do that. (It’s in the “Current Status” column)
Another thing that surprised me was that, apparently, once you have finished adding media to a gallery, you can delete entries, but you can not go back in and add any new items.
So, I ended up with 3 videos in a gallery. I entered the shortcode in the post, and when I looked at the page, there were two scrollbars, one above the other, with the text of titles and descriptions across where a player should have been… there was (or were, I was expecting one player that would play the three videos) no player to be found on the page.
In the third space there was a player placeholder saying that there was no video to display.
I realized I had designated one of the videos as Vimeo when it should have been YouTube. That’s when I got my third surprise. When I went back into the plugin setup, I saw that there is no way of changing the media type once the gallery has been saved.
Well I’ll save us both the time of further dissertation and just say that I have found a solution that will work for me and am going to continue to use it.
But I do appreciate your commitment to continuing to develop this plugin for the WordPress community and I hope that others will have better luck with it than I did.

In reply to: [My Post Order] [Plugin: My Post Order] It just did not workThank you for your response.
No other post order plugins were active.
I created three sections, named after three corresponding categories. It’s funny, but after using other post order plugins, they all seem to recognize each other settings, because when I added the posts to be sorted they were already in the order I wanted.
I saved each section.
I placed the code:
<?php query_posts(‘section_name=’ . single_cat_title( ”, false ) ); ?>
above the code:
<?php if ( have_posts() ) : ?>
As before, there was no effect on the order of the posts displayed in the category archive pages. In fact, in the first category I sorted, posts from a different category were displayed, one that I had not even sorted (but which I had just previously been working on). Also, the names of the categories were not listed at the top of the page; just the term Category Archives.
With the one plugin working for me so well and then having it stop working leaves me to believe that there is something going on that is not plugin or theme related; but I can’t figure it out.
Anyway, I am learning how to work around it, and I appreciate your help.
Yes, and you can go to contents > uploads > cool gallery and modify the xml file and change the title too. And you can dig into the plugin code to do great things as well, but I think most people turn to plugins to get things done easier, not to add to their to do list.
Still and all, I appreciate the work that Praveen put in to develop this plugin.

In reply to: [TubePress] [Plugin: TubePress] How to play several videosIn your documentation you state that an individual video can be displayed:
“Single-Video Embeds” using the shortcode:
[tubepress video=”J51kfduN5aA”]In accordance with your “valid shortcode syntax” (or is that [‘valid shortcode syntax’] or maybe [‘ “valid shortcode syntax” and more syntax’] ??
I tried:
[tubepress video=” ‘J51kfduN5aA’ sUtS52lqL5w”]
and other variations, in an attempt to play more than one video, with the result of nothing displaying on the page or it reverting back to the plugin default settings.
So my question is, is there a way to string together multiple videos into a custom playlist?
How would one go about checking this with Firebug?

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] [Plugin: BackUpWordPress] Did not perform auto backupsHere is my feedback on the latest release. (I haven’t used it in a few days so I cannot give specific details in some cases)
There was one window that I opened (I can’t remember if it was the schedule window, or the exclusion window) that once I was in I could not get out. There was no cancel button. It looked like I either needed to set up a new schedule (or exclusions) or just be stuck there. So I needed to refresh the page to get out.
Also, I did set up a new schedule, with the exceptions filtered out, but then there was an old schedule, and they were both functioning (when I clicked on them, there was feedback on the latest stored backup in each of them) and I could not find any way of deleting the older backup schedule.
Anyway, thanks for the development of this plugin.
