In reply to: [Backup and Restore WordPress - Backup Plugin] SCAM!!! DO NOT INSTALLThe Free and Premium features are clearly listed in the plugin’s description, and yes, the restore is only included in the premium. Thanks for the clarification, @vladabrasch, and I’m glad you found another plugin that is working for you.

In reply to: [Backup and Restore WordPress - Backup Plugin] SCAM!!! DO NOT INSTALLHi @vladabrasch would you mind elaborating on why my plugin is a scam?
I have provided the community plugin for free with documentation and support on my website, https://www.wpbackitup.com, for over a decade. I’ve spent countless hours coding, documenting, translating, providing free email support, etc. Like many other free plugins, I offer a premium version to cover some of my costs for support, software tools, etc., but purchasing it is not required. The free plugin will back up everything that the premium does.
If you don’t like the functionality or have found other free plugins you like better, I certainly understand. If you have suggestions on how I can improve, please share them, but saying it’s a scam isn’t very helpful to others in the community.
Thanks, and looking forward to your response.

In reply to: [Backup and Restore WordPress - Backup Plugin] wp_zrqw_wpbackitup_job_itemsHi @spinshock,
Did you have the “Remove Data on Uninstall” setting checked when you uninstalled? If not then just install the community plugin again, change the setting and uninstall again. The plugin should remove all that table and all its data.Hope that helps!
Chris@viviennevv A released 1.40 today which should resolve any issues with Jquery. Please let us know if you run into additional issues.
Hi @viviennevv,
I will get this fixed this week. Thanks again for pointing this out.Chris
Thanks for the info @viviennevv. Let me review and see what the scope of the change will be.
Chris
@ipstenu ok, that makes sense. I will make those updates to the readme.
Thanks @chrisbeds Appreciate the comment.
Thanks @ipstenu. Normally I don’t let these type reviews bother me but adding ransomware and scam to describe my plugin seemed over the line. Appreciate you taking the time to review.
@alomenzo,
WPBackItUp does backup all the tables in the database unless you tell it not to. Do you know if the Wp-Pro-Quiz uses custom tables?Have you opened a support ticket with us yet?

Here is a link to a blog post that outlines step by step how to restore your site.https://www.wpbackitup.com/blog/manually-restore-wordpress-plugins-themes-media-files

@randomuser909,
Not sure how requiring a purchase for premium features makes the plugin a scam. I clearly state in the description that the one-click restore is a premium feature. It’s at the top of the description in bold.
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-backitup/Additionally, I spent a few days writing a blog post that provides step by step instructions on how to restore your site yourself if you don’t want to purchase the premium plugin.
https://www.wpbackitup.com/blog/manually-restore-wordpress-plugins-themes-media-filesThe free plugin takes hundreds of hours every year for us to improve and update to support all the latest versions of WordPress. Plus we provide free support to anyone using the community edition (free) plugin so if they have trouble with the manual restore then we will help.
I don’t mind one-star reviews if you truly feel the plugin doesn’t provide value but these types of reviews seem very unfair. I understand that you don’t want to pay for the premium features, many people don’t. Which is why I wrote the blog post. But to say we are somehow scamming people or that the plugin is ransomware, thats just not true and is likely why you created a fake profile to post your review.
Chris
Hi @sharonvillines,
Unfortunately, WPBackItUp doesn’t provide that option yet. Are you aware that WordPress actually doesn’t remove your posts until you empty the post “trash”? If you haven’t done this then you should see a link “Trash” on the top of pages/posts listing section.Click on that “trash” link and it will take you the section where all the trashed posts are listed.
Select the posts you deleted using the checkboxes provided.
Select Restore from Bulk Actions dropdown, then hit the Apply button.
Now go back to the posts listing section and your post again.
Hope that helps.
Chris@lionfish16 I received your email and have replied to both email addresses. Please let me know if you receive the response.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Backup and Restore WordPress - Backup Plugin] Schedule auto backupHi @vincentstag. Yes, we use WPCron to manage the scheduled job. Here is a short video I created that walks you through how to use the scheduler.
Hope that helps.
Chris@ Lionfish16 We have been trying to help for months now but are not able to reach you via email. I suspect our emails are going to your spam folder. Please check your spam folder and respond to the last email I sent.
The issue we ran into with German characters had to do with the way character encoding was set for your site, not WPBackItUp but nevertheless, we are happy to help.
However, we MUST be able to communicate with you via email so lets first get the issue with your email resolved and then we are happy to help with the site issues.
