I have done exactly as you suggest on a staging site, but unfortunately I do not find it straight forward at all due to the information taxonomy mismatch between GigPress and The Events Calendar.

In GigPress, a WordPress post can have a 1-n relationship with GigPress “shows”. Similarly a GigPress “tour” can also have a 1-n relationship with “shows”. The Events Calendar represents each of these “shows” as a stand-alone event, with no relationship to other “shows” in the same “tour” (or related to the same WordPress post). For my organization, the bulk of the information about any given performance is in the related WordPress post, not in the GigPress “shows” (individual performances), and I don’t see any automated way to add this information to the converted TEC events.

Two ways to do that:

1. create a custom template (https://gigpress.com/docs/#templates) that omits the city tag ($showdata[‘city’]), or

2. use CSS to override the GigPress stylesheet and suppress the display of the city (https://gigpress.com/docs/#css)

In the dashboard, go to Gigpress > Settings, and uncheck “Show RSS and iCal subscription links.”

The Full Text/Summary option on the Reading settings page is for articles in an RSS feed. I’m guessing that you are looking for excerpts on your category and archive pages.

A plugin like Content Views is a way to get what you want here.

My question arises because the customer for whom I am developing the website apparently routinely has her browser window (Safari on a Mac) set at <1280 pixels, and is complaining that the logo is too tiny. I originally created a 200×50 px mobile logo which worked well on cell phones and tablets. I removed the mobile logo and my customer is now happy, but the 150×150 regular logo *is* obstructing a great deal of the real estate on smaller devices. I welcome any advice on an image size that works both on mobile devices and my customer’s screen.

Yes. When you create or edit a post, there is a space to add a post excerpt (sorry, I used the wrong term above). If you create an excerpt, it will be used instead of the initial text of the post in the slider. More info here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Excerpt
