I, too, would like to have the option to update a post, not just repost it. And I liked having the OPTION to update or not update, not have it update automatically.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsNextScripts will be fixing a major problem with SNAP in the next version, the problem of pulling more than the post content into the Tumblr transfer; i.e., ads and Like buttons and such.
If you are interested, the discussion thread about that is at this link:
Outstanding! Thank you, NextScripts! Thank you, Stitchkingdom!
I agree. I wish we could find out if this fix solves the problem of the ads showing up, as well. Do you know whether it does, or not? I don’t happen to have any ads on my posts, so I can’t test that aspect.
Janet’s Husband: IT WORKED! I plugged that line in and it worked. I commented out the existing line with //##.
Janet: Thank you so much for giving that information. MUCH nicer to let it post and not have to bother with it afterwards! You’re brilliant! ??
@stitchkingdom: Thank you for that additional information. I will pass that along to my husband. I’ve been stuck on another problem all day today and haven’t had a spare minute to devote to this one, which I really, really would like to solve. I’ll let you know what we find. ??
@stitchkingdom: Oh, we crossed paths in the night, I just saw your suggestion. I will show it to hubby and see if that means anything to him. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

@stitchkingdom: If I understood what was said the first time, I might understand when you said it again here, but I didn’t and I don’t. Sorry to be dense, but getting into the source stuff just isn’t where my talents lie. When I can find things that work, and put ’em to work and let them do what they’re supposed to do, then I can get to work. This is frustrating me to pieces.
If anyone has a suggestion about how to edit the code myself, please lay it in detail out here and I will ask my husband to try to make sense of it in the code. WP is not his specialty either, but he is a programmer and may be able to follow instructions to get the workaround done.
Otherwise, I may have to post images with just a title, which would eliminate people searching on content.
Sigh.
Would it be possible for one of your developers to take a look at the now defunct Tumblrize plugin to see how that was handled? It worked beautifully. If you don’t have access to that source code, I would be happy to copy it for you and send it along.
Another suggestion that would make SNAP close to perfect is to allow updates to posts to also update the Tumblr post. As it is written now, the only option is to repost, which duplicates the post in Tumblr. If we make a change to the original WP, it would be nice to have it update the Tumblr version that was passed along, or at least give an option to update it at the bottom of the WP post screen.
Thanks for this quick reply! I know there are a lot of former Tumblrize users who are going to be switching to SNAP now, and they’ll probably all be asking the same thing. ??

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentials@kapees: I’m getting a little annoyed myself that I haven’t heard from NextScripts SNAP support since Thursday, although it could be that the guy was not working on Friday and was away all weekend, or just not working all weekend. I also don’t know what time zone differences we may be dealing with. He was very helpful right through Thursday, and then just disappeared.
I am going to tackle this again at about noon and see if I can get any results about getting FULLTEXT to exclude stuff that isn’t actual text of the post. The image that appears in admin mode is a placeholder, and that’s the way Tumblrize used to work, as I recall. I had the same concern, but I had gotten used to seeing the actual image when I shared an image directly to Tumblr (after Tumblrize failed and before I heard about SNAP). If you click to your actual site, the image appears correctly.
Anyone else got any input about this?

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsNope, NextScripts SNAP still posts text from the post that is actually not part of the post (the vote/like text from another plugin). The new version didn’t solve that problem.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentialsAccording to the NextScripts SNAP plugin page, this new version does the following:
* Improvement – Better list of available accounts.
* Bug fix – Google+ Wrong options when using “Repost Button”
* Bug fix – Google+ Fixed publishing of new lines in messages.
* Bug fix – Pinterest Settings DisappearanceSo, I gather that the “Like” text will still appear. Will test now.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentials@kapees: I post images with every post I add, and I add dozens of them each day. I have mine set this way:
Post Title Format: %TITLE%
Post Text Format: <p>%FULLTEXT%</p>
%SITENAME%The Text Format adds the image and puts my site name at the bottom of each post, with a link through to the post on my site.
Unfortunately, the “FULLTEST” option also pulls in the text that appears at the bottom of my posts from a “Like” (with a count) plugin I use, unless this new version eliminated that problem. I’ve been working with Ludwig at NextScripts SNAP on that. I will test the new update shortly; just updated it and haven’t looked to see what it does yet.

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentials@stitchkingdom: What was the bug that you found and fixed? I worked with NextScripts support all day yesterday to get mine working. I’m wondering if what he fixed is what YOU fixed.
And what was the plug-in that you “kludged”? I had to disable my “Share and Follow” plugin in order to get NextScripts to work. I have since installed a different share plugin.
This Tumblr change has consumed an amazing amount of time!

In reply to: [Tumblrize] [Plugin: Tumblrize] Rejecting Tumblr login credentials@kapees: I spent HOURS trying to figure this whole thing out, and then I had a problem that I spent all day working with NextScripts support to resolve yesterday.
Start here to register API: https://www.nextscripts.com/setup-installation-tumblr-social-networks-auto-poster-wordpress/
“Tumblr uses OAuth to provide authorized access to its API. You need to register Tumblr application and get “OAuth Consumer Key” and “Secret Key”. Then you will need to authorize your WordPress blog.”
That link will direct you here: https://www.tumblr.com/oauth/apps
There is a link to NextScripts support on that first link. I’ve been working closely with Ludwig, and he’s been very helpful.
