  • @jacowig – I DID figure it out. I had to go back to my hosting company for my WP site (in my case, Site Ground) and they had to give me a new URL to access the WP dashboard. When you switch your web address to SquareSpace, it can no longer be used to access WP, so your WP hosting provider will have to create (or just let you know) what new URL you can use to get access to your WP site. So don’t cancel your hosting service until you can get your stuff off WP and into SS.

By the way, I did not find an easy or efficient way to move my blog posts from WP to SS. It was cut and paste the whole way. Brutal. Good luck!

@gtyadmin – did you ever figure this out? I have exactly the same issue. Do I need to actually switch the domain back to WordPress, scrape all my blog posts and then point it back to my squarespace site? Surely there is a way to get back to login to my WordPress site?

@jacowhig – I have EXACTLY the same issue as you’ve detailed here. Did you ever figure out how to login to the WordPress site? We switched over to SS today and it never occurred to me that I wouldn’t be able to go back to my WordPress site to get some of the images and blog posts from it.

Thanks for the advice. I deactivated the TinyMCE Color Picker plugin that allowed me to add my brand’s colors within the editor’s color palette and it resolved the issue. After I got all the fonts/sizes/colors with Google Easy Fonts, I reactivated the Color Picker and now I have the best of all worlds!
