I tried installing the Main Blog Loop Extension and setting that to display the posts by Publication instead of Event, but that overrides the WordPress default and reorders all the posts in the loop in ascending order, not just the events, so I end up with the very first post, from ten years ago or something, at the top of my home page…

Thanks for the prompt suggestion. This seems likely. (If I deactivate the Feedzy plugin, the shortcode is definitely displayed with curved commas instead, so something’s getting changed in transit.)

I have straight quotes in the standard WordPress editor, though, so I don’t see how to fix this. I don’t need to do much with these feeds, so I think it will be simpler for me just to do it another way. Thanks very much for your help.

I think I tried all these suggestions, without success. However, there does seem to be a workaround on my site. Try entering the new location on the Locations page as a first step. After it’s in the database, you seem to be able to enter it successfully when entering particular events using the little pull down menu for locations on the page you get with the Location tab.
