Thank you for your help guys.

BUT it still hasn’t worked. I can’t log in via FTP because I can’t get access to the site as the username and/or password isn’t correct.

I’ve logged in to myPHPadmin in my control panel and followed instructions to change my password successfully, but then when I try to log in to wordpress my password or username are said to be incorrect again.

I know I’m typing the right thing and using the right password, especially now as I’ve changed it, but there is still something wrong. When I access the “lost password” link and enter my username it comes up that my username doesn’t exist. I’ve gone back to the CPanel and checked, double checked and triple checked that I’m not making a daft typo and the same thing keeps happening.

I’ve done this on both .com and .org even though I know I’m registered here with .org.

I’ve exhausted all the options open to me right now and think that there is something wrong from within. Could I have been hacked?

    Thanks again.

The only solution I see there is the Emergency Reset Script, but the problem about using that is that my username isn’t being recognised. I’m going to need it in order to do that aren’t I?

The problem is that my username isn’t being recognised, so I can’t get access to anything.
Unfortunately I don’t understand the use of scripts and some of the other recovery options as my knowledge of web design and coding is very limited.
Is there any way of emailing WordPress directly, so they can access my account and reset my password and see what has happened to my username?
My website is still running ok.
    Thank you.
