In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] It do not workHi there,
Thanks for your review
I appreciate your unsatisfactory experience would lead to a negative view of this plugin, it’s not uncommon for the backup process to fail on certain hosting environments.
I would argue that this isn’t really a failure of the plugin, but a failure of circumstance. In future updates of the plugin it’s my wish that we add better user feedback as to the state of the backup process, and feedback like this is a good reminder to us that what our users experience is important to us.
Thanks for trying BackUpWordPress,
Owain.

OwainOh ok. Thanks for reaching out to support. Let’s pickup the conversation there. I thought you were originally just referring to the file size calculation
Are backups also failing to complete? Or just the file size scanning process?
Do you have shell access to your server?
I recommend you enable support if you’re having more issues.
Cheers!
OwainHi there,
Thanks for getting in touch.
So this is a common issue. What’s happening is that the process to calculate the file/folder sizes is killed by the server before it can complete.
Broadly speaking it’s a tough problem to solve. The file size calculation process isn’t essential for backups. You can still perform backups normally. You can force-restart the process by deactivating/reactivating the plugin.
Cheers!

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] zip warning: No such file or directoryHi there,
Thanks for getting in touch.
So this error is only really a warning. In a future version of BackUpWordPress we should hide this error.
What’s happening is that BackUpWordPress tries to use the Unix ZIP command to create a backup of your site. In your case, it’s found that you have the ZIP command available, and so it tries to use it, but your web server has disabled it’s use.
BackUpWordPress will simply fallback to a PHP Library to create a backup of your site, so it’s likely backups are still being created despite the error.
Cheers!
