In my environment:
– WordPress 3.5.2
– WP-mail-SMTP 0.9.1
– WP-SMTP 1.1.5
– Hosted in GoDaddy
Through Settings -> WP-SMTP set:
From: my email (“[email protected]”)
From Name: “Whatever you like”
Host: localhost
SMTP Secure: None
Port: 25
SMTP Authentication: No
All the other fields empty.
Then through Settings -> Email Set:
From email: (blank)
From name: “Whatever you like”
Send all WordPress emails via SMTP option selected
Encryption: No encryption
Authentication: No
All the other fields empty.
And that’s it.
Specifically I was configuring it with Contact Forms 7 so, even when it didn’t work for me, these pages gave me some guidance:
