In reply to: [Facebook Tab Manager] [Plugin: Facebook Tab Manager] Blank Page in FB ?Thanks David, and I tried a brand new “app” page from the same domain with the same result, so I tried it from a client site w/ an SSL cert and it works fine – so – I’m thinking it’s just some sort of issue at my host w/ my SSL. Ugh…
I guess I can resolve it by getting an SSL on another site and just managing my pages from there. Thanks though, for the reply…

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Date removalThis page – https://yoast.com/wordpress-seo-1-2/ says this:

Well you can, with the new 1.2.2 release, just add the following to your theme’s functions.php:
add_filter( ‘wpseo_show_date_in_snippet’,’__return_false’);
And it’ll not show the dates ??but that does not work…
OK thanks – I just donated –
but looks like the “thank you” page though is on an expired domain…
https://ww1.steezmatic-designs.comI hope the email address for Paypal isnt for that domain so you get your money?
In an effort to be more efficient, I merely SAID that “I just donated” but then when I tried to don ate, I end up at a 404 page at the authors site – https://l3rady.com/donate
How can we donate to this plugin?
Seems fixed on the new version – it did not overwrite at a site (which WAS blank when i got there from the last irritating upgrade) – so i added a test line – then upgraded – my line is still there.
We lost a TON of custom excludes in all of our own and client domains, for everything from cache to Analytics folders and this REALLY sucked. Can anyone confirm this has been resolved?
(By the way, this plugin is really invaluable – I just sent a donation to the dev and recommend that y’all do too)
This plugin was updated ten days ago but it will still not play the video correctly or show controls in IE8. Was this fix not implemented?
I looked at the code, and tried what was listed here because I saw that the line was not changed, but it didn’t fix the problem…
The only way to get the browser to play is to go into “compatibility mode” but then a user still can’t see the controls or pause the video.
Any chance this will ever work right for users with Windows XP who have no upgrade past IE8? It’s still a BIG portion of the users out there…

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] #Hashtag Shortcodebut… at the top of the on the plugin page it SAYS this:
A widget that properly handles twitter feeds, including @username, #hashtag, and link parsing.
so what’s up?
No, don’t redirect your sitemap.xml – You have to just kill it off. Remove it from Google Webmaster tools and delete it from your domain folder, and submit the new map in WMT.
I think that using sitemap_index.xml and the his multi-file sitemap_structure was a mistake, but there’s nothing we can do about it.
It’s one of the biggest issues I have with this (great) plugin is that most people won’t realize that their old sitemap.xml file will no longer remain current.
I too would have preferred that he used the normal naming convention, but for a massively large site, his way is certainly better.

In reply to: [Image Widget] [Plugin: Image Widget] Request: Widget Title and WidthYeah, this is sort of critical – Clients shouldn’t have to mess with this … Seems really sloppy.

In reply to: [Image Widget] Image Frame/Border in IEBummer – would be nice to hear an answer…
In the developers defense, I’m not sure there’s any notification built into the WP repository system to at least let the dev know that someone’s posted here – is there?!?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] No editor for robots.txtOK, I get it now…
To be clear, The Yoast plugin does nothing to create or ever edit or add to an existing robots.txt file. The robots tags he’s referring to just appear in your code.
If you want to edit an actual robots .txt file from the admin panel, you need to create one manually.
I just added my generic one below, and an F5 refresh made it appear in the WP admin panel…

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] No editor for robots.txtBut Joost, your Feature #8 on the WordPress SEO Plugin feature list
is “Edit your robots.txt and .htaccess” –
https://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/Also, I’m pretty certain I’ve seen an editor for the robot.txt file in this plugin for the robots.txt file here before, haven’t I?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Sitemap is Blank PageOn a few occasions, we’ve seen a blank /sitemap_index.xml from this plugin, but only after beginning the site in development, “hide from search engines” in WP provact settings.
Then, after UNhiding from search engines, we had to re-save the setting to USE the sitemap, and uncheck / recheck pinging of the four search engines.
I also think there might be some confusion out there, since most of the time on small sites people are used to using having the name of the file be sitemap.xml – and, we’re used to just one map.
I remember finally noticing that Yoast used a different name for the default sitemap – /sitemap_index.xml – so someone had to spend a while in Webmaster Tools deleting all the old maps and adding the new names for everywhere we’d changed to use this plugin.
We helped this user by email, and this issue was fixed in January 2011 – we changed so the extra Page Link manager is off by default…
