The WP options state

however i cant get this to work, any clue?

does your isp allow “mod_rewrite” on your server? if not – it’ll never work.

sorry, thought you were using float to position your menu, its ‘cos its absolute.
unless you use abs for everythin else its never going to work.
I’d switch to float. ??

add this

<br style="clear:both" />

to the bottom of the ‘short’ column.
