In reply to: Plugin Activation error (while activating my plugins)I just had this same problem when trying to activate a different plugin. Turned out there was a database error.
Go into Cpanel (if you use that) and check “Error Logs”
look for errors related to your wordpress installation. If you see any table crashes, go into PHPmyadmin. Find the table that has crashed and repair it.
Sorry these instructions may be vague, but after I repaired the table that crashed, my problem went away. Phew!
Let me know if you need more detail. Not a techy myself, but i can kinda walk you through it.

In reply to: troubleshooting CSS – IE is driving me nutsRoot, I have no idea how xhtml validation errors occur. Is this something I can fix? Are the errors still there?
But the author got back to me and figured it out pretty fast. It’s always me of course. ?? Something about the formatting of one of my posts was throwing off the entire site. So I deleted the post and the formatting issues went away. Presto!

In reply to: How do you know if your theme is Widget ready?Have you installed the Widgets Plugin?
https://automattic.com/code/widgets/
Once that is installed, you’ll see the sidebar widgets option in the admin control panel.
At least that’s how it worked for me. Hope that helps.

In reply to: troubleshooting CSS – IE is driving me nutsK, I’ve done both in the stylesheet.
And I’ve just realized there’s a comment section below the spot where I downloaded the theme…Well duh. I should probably ask the author, huh?

This is where I got the theme originally.
Do you mean I should probably have a width here?
# #header { # padding: 0; # margin: 0; # position: relative; # height: 200px; # I'LL PUT ONE IN RIGHT HERE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS... background:url(images/head.jpg) no-repeat #000000; # }

In reply to: troubleshooting CSS – IE is driving me nutsOh wonderful. I can’t wait to see what happens in IE7.
I’m glad I don’t have to worry about Mac IE. I was at my parents’ house when I noticed how messed up it looked on their Mac. I will just have to tell them their browser is obsolete. Yay!
Here is the CSS. Thanks in advance for your help!
[Moderated: Holy gosh, that’s a lot of code! Let’s use a pastebin service such as https://wordpress.pastebin.ca instead. Or, since it is just CSS, you could just give a link directly to it. Thanks]

In reply to: weird pop-up on my wp homepage : application/x-httpd-phpHere’s what I did. I went to Control Panel, deinstalled FireFox. DELETED the whole Mozilla Firefox folder under Program files. Downloaded the latest zip file for Firefox, unzipped it, and installed it.
Now what is this “profile” you are speaking of? Because I still have the same problem I did before. And why, why, why, me?! hahaha
Thanks so much for your help.
