What is the fastest membership plugin?

Hi,

I’m looking for a membership plugin recommendation that offers the fastest load time. Right now my plugins load at 0.9s and my site loads at 2.4s. I don’t really want to go above that. I’m using various plugins to keep the load time down, but I don’t use CDN (yet).

Because I have a lot of content, the site is mobile-friendly and I’m hoping for lots of visitors (this is a dev site right now), I need to keep the speed down to a minimum.

But the main revenue source is going to be paid memberships via post content behind a paywall, so I need to add a membership plugin.

My problem is that all the ones I’ve found seem to add 4s or more to the load time, which is nearly twice the load time of my entire site. For a plugin, it’s not ideal. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good membership plugin that doesn’t slow the site down so much. Free or paid. It can be simple with only two membership options (free and paid) that paywall posts or categories, and it just needs to hook up to Paypal.

It’s worth noting that I have Buddy Press, Mailchimp and Woocommerce on the site, so it’d be nice to connect them all to one login, at least BP and the Memberships, but it’s not vital.
