In reply to: Image loader not workingHi,
Since updating wordpress to 3.3.1, I’ve encountered one problem after another.
Jetpack doesn’t work and now the ‘widget’ area won’t work. I can’t open any of the widgets I’ve put on the site.
My hosting provider tells me I have to ask WordPress when I have a problem….
Does anyone know how to fix the widget area? [I deactivated Jetpack in case it was what was causing the problem, but it didn’t help].
With thanks

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Add-ons To Post TitleHi again to anyone who might be reading this,
What I’ve found out is that malware got onto my computer through 3 plugins. The most probably reason was that I was not updating wordpress as soon as new updates came out.
I have deleted all 3 plugins and the malware files are no longer there.
However, doing this hasn’t got rid of the extra characters after the post title slash. Can anyone help? Most of the help I’ve found has been on Google Forums (where there was a long thread relating to a similar problem which occurred 2 years ago) and websites talking about hacking.

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Add-ons To Post TitleHi again,
The permalink on the post and page admin side does not have extra characters. Neither do they appear in the titles on the admin side. This would appear to mean that the plugin Yoast is not at fault, suggesting that it is a problem with the wordpress upgrade.
They only appear on the published side of the post/page.
Is there a place to post this query on the codex side? I looked, but they didn’t seem to have a forum.

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Add-ons To Post TitleHi again,
Can anyone help? I’ve now found that the Social Media sites I use in order to promote by blog can no longer pick up my site. This has only happened since the recent update.
The extra information – similar to ‘/#.TwNA-jWRHNU’ has now tagged itself on to every page and post on my blog!
It also means that any links created to particular posts/pages are now no longer valid. ??
I run very few plugins.
With thanks.

In reply to: Latest wordpress updateHi,
Am enlarging on the query above as I haven’t found a resolution yet.
Since updating to 3.3. and updating my SEO yoast plugin, the post name in the url has extra numbers after the trailing slash. e.g.
https://www.mysite.com/post title/#.TwNA-jWRHNU
Does anyone know why they appear and how to get rid of them?
I have asked Yoast as well, am am waiting on their reply. My SEO settings all appear to be correct.
With thanks

In reply to: Remove Page TitlesJust an update.
Recently, someone showed me how to do this. For those still in the sand-box of learning html, css and php, the following info will really help –
‘In your WordPress Dashboard, select Appearance/Menus. First, clear the checkbox for “Automatically add new top-level pages” and then Add a menu. Give it a name, such as Page Menubar. (If necessary click the tab with a + sign to display a blank menu.)
On the left side of the menu screen, under Pages, select the View All tab. Select the Pages you want to add to the menu. Drag to rearrange. If any of the Page names are too long, use the Navigation Label box to type the menu item display text. Save Menu.
Then, on the left side of the main screen area, under Theme Locations select your new menu as “Menu 1” and Save. Your clean menu will then display at the top of your blog.’
Am posting this here, because someone else looking for the same info might be able to find it.

In reply to: Trouble with Editing a PageHi,
I created the tables using open office tables. (I do them fairly regularly)
I then copy and paste to the normal view, but add the links in html view.

In reply to: Trouble with Editing a PageHi,
I went through all the plugins deactivating them one by one. The problem wasn’t there. (The only one I didn’t deactivate was Akismet – not sure that it would reactivate without the kay. And I’m not sure I can find the key now)
Validator.w3.org results said that there were 13 errors and 6 warnings. Looking at them seems to show that
4 are connected to facebook addthis plugin
another 5 are withing the same string (mostly to do with meta and name)
2 are with the google plus one.I can’t properly understand them all.
None of them seem to have anything to do with the contents of the table though.
Any thoughts about where I can go from here?
With thanks

In reply to: Trouble with Editing a PageThank you Samuel.
I will do that.
After posting I remembered one thing that I had done. As I added links, I updated but didn’t ‘publish’.
The page has an ‘autosave’ on it which allows me to go back in time for quite a long way. I was wondering if I used the autosave to go back a few hours if that would set it right.
On the other hand, when I compare the autosave revisions, the whole table is visible on the latest autosave, it just doesn’t show in the edit view.
than ks for your help and reply.

In reply to: Can't edit a post on my blog.Yes. My slow working brain had worked out that I could re-post it using a copy from the actual visible post.
Thanks for the reply though.

In reply to: TDO Mini Forms VisibilityWell, I’ve dragged the various widgets across onto the form platform and although I have both a ‘content’ and a ‘text’ widget – space to write content or text on the visible form doesn’t exist.
All that shows up under content is ‘post title’ and under Text, just the heading ‘test’, no space for content.
I found that the plugin could also be accessed from an icon lower down the admin page on LHS menu, which took me to the ‘settings’
This is what ‘readme’ says ..’You can use the button in the options menu to create a page automatically’ – Can’t find a button anywhere!. Can find Plugin Options and Form Options, but no button.
Not finding this plugin easy to use. So again, any help to get the text area usable would be greatly appreciated. (Will probably stop with that…)

In reply to: TDO Mini Forms VisibilityHi there,
I’ve made some progress. The plugin on the admin side of my blog had ‘deactivate’ and ‘edit’, the ‘settings’ choice dropped away for some reason.
I went to ‘edit’ – [not where I would normally go as the developers of this plugin are far more knowledgeable than I am} – but on the RH menu I found ‘readme’! So I got the form onto a post. {It seems I have to place it in each ‘post’ or ‘page’ I create because the info on how/where to place it on the template form is limited. Does it go between the ‘header’ tags of the header.php file?)
Still working on it – so will be back later with any further questions.
