In reply to: Making Tdo mini forms visualIt was suggested to me that I allow visitors to share their experiences and photos on my blog.
To this end, I downloaded tdo mini forms. I can easily find the download in the admin section where one logs-in to the blog.
However, I cannot see how anyone visiting my site and wanting to post a photo and share their experiences knows where the mini-form is. There is no button or link visible for them to start.
That’s what I mean. I hope it is expressed clearly enough. How do you get the form seen on the front page? Does that code go into a widget?
Thank you for your reply.

In reply to: Allowing other users to login and postHi there,
I downloaded the plug-in and have been looking for its physical presence on my front page.
I can’t find it though. I have configured some of the choices one can have, but could not find anywhere to confirm the posting of photographs.
How do visitors find the form?
With thanks

In reply to: Load time too slowOK, thank you for that.
I have deleted a lot of the ads down the RHS. There are still some which would be fetched from within the actual text. I will just have to wait and see if it improves the performance.

In reply to: Load time too slowI am not very clued up about this. Does this information suggest that I should use a zip plugin to compress the excess KB?

In reply to: Load time too slowThat’s both interesting and comforting. I will get rid a lot of the ads and see how it goes.
I just don’t know what to fill up that space down the side with if the ads go!
Thank you for your reply.

In reply to: Stats IssueNo, not the forums.
But suddenly, checking it again a minute ago – it is back to normal. Must’ve been a blip of some kind – glad it’s gone

Thank you. It will take me a little while to get on and do it but I followed your link and it looks do-able. (for me, I mean)

In reply to: WordPress.com Stats issueThe same issue happened to me. Yesterday’s message said that some sites were having a problem with the stats and they were working on it. Today’s message just says as per luisiher’s post. Does one remove the stats plugin and re-load it?
I use the programme a lot, so I’m keen to get it up and working again. It’s been down for more than a few hours now.

In reply to: Where my visitors are coming fromSome thoughts:
Try putting a date on your recipes and adding a bit of human chat – e.g. the dinner party recipe (12th March) doesn’t say how many guests it will serve. And maybe suggest a wine which would go well with it. It contains quite a lot of fish in it, so you might like to say ‘for those who are allergic to shellfish, then an alternative here can be….’
If you have this type of an introductory paragraph as a heading to each recipe, this provides keywords which help you to get traffic. Talking a bit about each recipe is also a way to help people see the recipe in terms of them finding it easy to use.
Take your pashka recipe as an example. There are 1900 global searches monthly for this type of recipe and google turns up 249000 results. If your introduction to the recipe includes the word pashka a few times (3?) you have a chance of coming up in their search. The first on google’s first page had a chef’s note attached to the recipe, giving a bit of background on pashka.
I clicked through and was impressed. It looks good, is easy to use and has, it seems, original content.
I only did a search on one of your articles and all the results pointed to your site and your facebook site only.
Hope you have lots of success

In reply to: changing color of header in twenty-ten themeThank you for that. Yes, the green swamped the menu lettering. I changed it again and it’s much better now.
I really appreciate the info on how to change the color. I did not like the black.
