We’d also like to apologize again for the delay in getting back to your support ticket, please know that this is not the norm, we strive to assist our customers in a timely manner. Our team is aware of this delay and will strive to do better.

Hi @clip1492
Setup Wizard
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re happy to hear that WP Mail SMTP is working well for you, but we do apologize for the confusion and extra steps that you had taken to confirm that the option to install WPForms or AIOSEO as additional plugins is only available while going through our Setup Wizard and only if those specific options are selected during the setup process.
We intended to provide great starter tools for popular/related needs while keeping the option to uncheck or uninstall if anyone was already using an alternative. We understand your concerns and have shared them with our team, so we can continue looking into adjusting this in a future release.
Feature Tabs
Regarding our Pro feature tabs, I have shared this feedback with our team and I can see where you are coming from. Simplicity and functionality is important to us as well.
We ensured that the core purpose/functionality of WP Mail SMTP can be achieved via the the first setting screen (or our Setup Wizard) and all basic troubleshooting tools (sending test emails, debugging email sending etc) are available in the free version. We will look into how we can make improvements with our current layout for future release.
If you have anymore feedback that you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can continue improving WP Mail SMTP.

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Updated failedHi @franklea ,
Thanks for reaching out and we’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with updating One Click Demo Import.
Please know that error message is not specific to One Click Demo Import. It is an error with the permissions on your server. It’s likely that the?upgrade-temp-backup?folder can’t be created or the permissions for the folder don’t allow writing in it. We would recommend reaching out to your website host if you are still experiencing this error message.
As a quick workaround, you should be able to delete One Click Demo Import plugin from the plugins folder and install the latest version via Plugins > Add new.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
Hey @chegor
Thank you for reaching out.
I confirmed with our developers that the latest version of WP Mail SMTP (version 4.0.2) is using version 7.8.1 of Guzzle as shown here (https://plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/wp-mail-smtp/trunk/vendor/composer/installed.php#L87).
At the time of the scan were you using the latest version of WP Mail SMTP? If not, please perform an update and try performing the scan once more. If the same result occurs, please rest assured that it as a false-positive as WP Mail SMTP is not using version 7.4.0 of Guzzle.
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to let me know.
Hi,?@solen63
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, while I’m happy to hear that WP mail SMTP is getting the job done, I’m sorry that you were put off slightly by our pro feature advertisements.
When you get a chance could you please let me know what specific advertisements made it feel like we were advertising the Pro version too much? I’d really like to know so we can make this a better experience for you and all our users.
Also, in case it helps to know, you can dismiss any notices and hide announcements in the plugin’s?Miscellaneous Settings.?You can find by going to the?WP Mail SMTP?plugin ->?Settings?->?Misc?tab. You can find this and descriptions of our other miscellaneous settings in our documentation?here.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi @timrei
Thanks for reaching out to us to us and we’re sorry to hear that you are running into a fatal error.
If you are still seeing this error message, are you using any other SMTP or mail-related plugins? This is potentially a plugin conflict, so when you get a chance, can you share a list of your currently active plugins?
A troubleshooting step you can attempt in the meantime is to disable all plugins except for Easy WP SMTP to confirm if the error message appears while only Easy Wp SMTP is active.
Please note that I would not recommend performing this troubleshooting step on your live website. If you have a staging or test version of your website, then please perform the troubleshooting step there.
If you do not currently have a staging website, then I would recommend creating a staging website by following the steps outlined in this article.
If the error stops while Easy WP SMTP is the only active plugin, from there, please activate one plugin at a time and check to see if the site health error reappears after each activation.
Once you confirm the conflicting plugin, please let us know.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi @ainasewing
Thank you for getting back to me. That certainly is odd.
I see that the 27/05 report showed that emails were sent that week. Do you have a logging plugin enabled like?WP Mail Logging?for example? If yes, do the number of logs match with the sent emails (29 emails) or the difference between the total emails for the two date ranges you shared (27 emails)?
Also, since your reports appear to be inaccurate, the WP Mail Logging plugin will help you keep track of what and how many emails are being sent from your website because they will be logged as soon as they are sent.
Also, since you have not received anymore reports, perhaps weekly summaries are currently disabled in your WP Mail SMTP ? Settings ? Misc section. If it isn’t this might indicate a plugin conflict.
When you get a chance can you let me know what plugins you currently have installed?
Hi @geykgn
Thank you for reaching back out to us and I’m sorry to hear that you are still facing this issue.
Our developers have attempted to reproduce the issue once more, but they are still getting an HTTPS URL during their tests. This issue may be specific to your setup as the code that populates those image addresses uses
plugin_dir_url
, which should correctly pull the HTTPS URL.Are you able to reproduce the issue if you send yourself a test email via Easy WP SMTP → Tools → Email Test?
Also, do you have HTTP set in your WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General section for your site and blog URL settings?
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you so we can get determine what is causing this issue.

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Importation errorsHey @moguls
Thanks for reaching out to us and we’re sorry for the delay and about hearing that you are experiencing issues with importing demo content on both of your websites.
I see that you are using the Larson and Noxfolio themes. Though it is strange that you would get a 404 error. That would imply that either the One Click Demo files are damange/not on your server or the One Click Demo Import plugin wasn’t installed.
First off I’d recommend that each respective theme and their required plugins are installed in their entirety and then attempt to perform the demo import as mentioned in their documentation:
https://bslthemes.gitbook.io/larson-wp-doc/import-demo-content
https://webtend-support.gitbook.io/docs/basic-setup/import-demo-content
If you are still experiencing the issue after attempting the One Click Demo Import, then the next workaround would be to attempt the manually import of the demo content using the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-importer/ plugin. This is not the ideal solution as you’ll need to confirm where all the demo content is stored within the theme folders and import it in the correct order for best results. I’d recommend also reaching out to the theme authors just in case they have any recommendations for users that have run into this issue.
Hi @karelova92
Thanks for reaching out to us and we’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your email sending since switching website hosts.
You mentioned that “WP Mail SMTP recommends its because mail A cord is proxied”, just to confirm, did you reach out to our support team previously or did you see that recommendation in an error message or article?
It sounds like you are using the Other SMTP mailer. If that is the case, then when you made the switch to Cloudflare, your previous SMTP settings were no longer active/accurate, so you would need to set up the Other SMTP mailer with a different SMTP provider or consider using a different mailer.
Note: If you were not using the Other SMTP mailer please let me know and I’ll be sure to share more specific recommendations.
In order to get your email sending up and running again, I’d recommend setting up a different mailer like SendLayer (free trial), Brevo (free tier) or the Google mailer (free, but you must use a Google Worspace or Gmail email email address). If you’re open to this then when you get a chance, please find their respective tutorials here, here and here.
If you’re stuck on any of the steps shown in these tutorials, feel free to let me know, I’ll be happy to help clear things up. If you’d like to continue using the Other SMTP mailer, then the ideal next step would be to select one of the SMTP providers that are listed here in our documentation.
I hope this helps, but as I mentioned before, feel free to reach out if you run into any issues.
Hi @ainasewing
Thank you for reaching out to us..
That certainly is strange. The weekly email summary in the lite version of WP Mail SMTP is supposed to show a summary of?all emails sent?from your website using the?wp_mail()?function since you installed and set up the WP Mail SMTP plugin.
So whenever your website executes the?wp_mail()?function, it will count towards the total. If an email isn’t being added towards the total then either the?wp_mail()?function wasn’t called for that email or another plugin is taking precedence or conflicting with ours.
When you get a chance can you let me know the following?
- What mailer are you currently using?
- What version of WP Mail SMTP are you currently using and are you only sending transactional emails or do you utilize any form of newsletter or marketing email plugins?
Thanks for reaching out and I’m glad to hear that you’re having a smooth experience with WP Mail SMTP so far.
Our developers confirmed that they are aware of this notice. The good news is that this PHP notice is related to a 3rd party vendor library, and you can safely ignore this because it won’t affect the functionality of WP Mail SMTP.
If there is anything else you’ve noticed and would like some clarification or help on, feel free to let me know. I’d be happy to help out.
Hey @amarshall2
Thanks for reaching out and we’re sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the Gmail mailer.
Also, thank you @generosus for trying to help out as well ??
@amarshall2 As mentioned in the Jon Smith thread, the error message you shared mentions that your connection is not authenticated and the usual solution is to to authorize your connection, if you have not tried already, please go to your WP Mail SMTP Settings page (WP Mail SMTP > Settings).
On this page, scroll down and click the?Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account?button and?Save Settings?to authenticate your connection. (https://a.supportally.com/i/2Yv6At).
This will trigger Google to launch a popup to continue the connection setup. In case it helps, this section of our guide provides additional details on this step.
In case it helps, we also have a video walkthrough of the entire setup process in case any steps were missed.
If the above does not work for you, can you please let me know if you are using the latest version of WP Mail SMTP (4.0.2)? Also, what plugins do you currently have installed?
Just in case you are still experiencing delivery issues, I’d really recommend setting up a different mailer in the meantime. For example you can look into setting up the SendLayer (free trial) or Brevo (free tier) mailers which will allow you to continue sending emails while we look into this issue you’re having with the Google mailer.
If you’re open to this, you can find their respective tutorials here and here.
Hi @stef110
Thanks for reaching out and we apologize for the delay.
If you are still experiencing the issue, please note that the error that you are getting is thrown by the SendGrid API.
The error indicates that the ‘from’ object in your email send request is either missing or incorrectly formatted. In this case the ‘from’ object in WP Mail SMTP is your From Email address that was set in your WP Mail SMTP > Settings > From Email field.
The ‘from’ object must include an ’email’ parameter, and it can optionally include a ‘name’ parameter. Make sure that your email sending code includes a ‘from’ object that looks like this: {“email” : “[email protected]”} or {“email” : “[email protected]”, “name” : “Example Recipient”}. Since the error occurs with a longer email format, please verify that the email address is correctly formatted and does not exceed any character limits.
Although you’ve defined it in your theme’s function.php file, is it the same From email address in your settings? Also, are you using the “Force From Email Address” option (to avoid potential conflicts with your theme’s settings).
While the video tutorial covers all the steps, it may helpful to see an example of the From Email setting I referenced in this section of our documentation (screenshot). on our I hope this helps and let me know how it goes!
If you are still experiencing issues or you are open to using a different mailer, please let me know, I’d be more than happy to help out.
Hi there?@kreativamarketing and @stevenjc,
Thank you for your patience.
You are both correct, those values are very strange and should absolutely be accurate. This feature should be consistent across the lite and Pro versions of WP Mail SMTP.
The weekly email summary in the lite version shows a summary of?all emails sent?from your website using the wp_mail()?function since you installed and set up the WP Mail SMTP plugin.
So whenever your website executes the?wp_mail()?function, it will count towards the total. If an email isn’t being added towards the total then either the wp_mail()?function wasn’t called for that email or another plugin is taking precedence or conflicting with ours.
Starting with @kreativamarketing as you mentioned, the number of sent emails is inaccurate especially since if I subtract the totals from your screenshots, 2871 emails were sent in one week. To determine what might have contributed to these strange values, when you get a chance can you confirm the following:
- What mailer are you currently using?
- Since you mentioned they were a week apart, can you confirm that you sent and possibly received 2000+ emails in one week?
- Do you have a logging plugin enabled like WP Mail Logging for example? If not, are you using one of the transactional mailers that offer an email logging feature? If yes, does the number of logs match with the sent emails or the difference between the total emails for that date range?
- What version of WP Mail SMTP are you currently using and are you only sending transactional emails or do you utilize any form of newsletter or marketing email plugins?
@stevenjc I’m interested in learning more about your set up as well, but in keeping with www.ads-software.com guidelines, if you are open to me looking into this further can you create a thread of your own and share answers to the following questions?
- What mailer are you currently using?
- Do you have a logging plugin enabled like WP Mail Logging for example? If not, are you using one of the transactional mailers that offer an email logging feature? If yes, does the number of logs match with the sent emails or the difference between the total emails for that date range?
- What version of WP Mail SMTP are you currently using and are you only sending transactional emails or do you utilize any form of newsletter or marketing email plugins?
When you both get a chance, please let me know.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.
