Hi, @montejan8
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and I apologize for the confusion.
To directly address your concerns, WPForms cannot be installed without authorization. The option to install WPForms as an additional plugin is only available in our?Setup Wizard?and only if?the “Smart Contact Form”?option is selected during the setup process.
I apologize that this came off as being forced, that absolutely was not our intention. We intended to provide a great starter tool for a popular/related need while keeping the option to uncheck or uninstall WPForms if anyone was already using a different form plugin.
Thank you again for sharing your review. If you have any questions or further feedback about what I shared, please feel free to reply to me.
Hi, @inacodeweb
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and we’re sorry for any confusion with this.
Please kindly know, that the main purpose of the WP Mail SMTP plugin is to improve the deliverability of emails that are sent from your website by connecting it with the mailing service (mailer).
While our Lite plugin version isn’t able to collect and store email logs, some of the mailing services like SendLayer, Brevo, Mailgun, etc. store logs of all emails that were sent on their end. So if you need to retrieve your logs, the best next step to find records of previous emails is to contact your site’s hosting provider or check the logs of the mailer you might have been using.
If you are not using a mailer that offers email logs, you can also use?WP Mail Logging plugin as a companion tool.
Please also note that WPForms is a sister company that’s why we may share some similarities, but the purpose of similar features is different.
Kind regards.
Thank you for sharing your honest opinion and leaving a review.
We’d really like to help restore your faith in WP Mail SMTP, by addressing what you’ve shared with us.
Just for reference, what specific changes have led to WP Mail SMTP being less intuitive? We ask because the UI for WP Mail SMTP has been mostly the same for quite some time.
Also by “test connection” do you mean sending a test email? If yes, that feature is still in the lite version of WP Mail SMTP. It’s been moved to the “Tools” menu item along with the other utility/troubleshooting features.

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Demo content loading issueThank you for getting back to us.
I reached out to our developers and they confirmed that this does not support One Click Demo Import.
Please note that the integration process is involved, we have instructions in our documentation here (https://ocdi.com/quick-integration-guide/), however, as I’ve mentioned previously, it would be best if you either asked the theme author to support One Click Demo Import or ask them if they have an established means of importing their demo content.
In case it helps, we have a page that briefly covers steps for asking the theme author to support One Click Demo Import –?https://ocdi.com/ask-your-theme-author/

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Demo content loading issueThank you for getting back to us.
I installed the Multifox theme and can see that there are no predefined import files available for this theme. This means the theme author hasn’t integrated with One Click Demo import.
You mentioned that you “exported the demo content in .xml format”.
How did you do this? That implies that you already had a WordPress installation with the demo content already installed and then exported it via your WordPress tools.
It may be in your best interest to reach out to the theme author to see if they allow for some other means of importing the demo content. Unless they have directly integrated with One Click demo or shared a .xml file you unfortunately would not be able to import the demo content.

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Demo content loading issueHey @creativebrahma
We’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with importing demo content.
I’m not sure what you meant by “your own theme”?
One Click Demo import is designed to import demo content for a theme based on the .xml file that was created for that specific theme.
The demo import files are generally created by theme authors (as mentioned in our user guide).
Using the .xml file on an unrelated theme will yield unintended results.
If I’m misunderstanding any part of the issue you are facing, please let me know.
Just for reference what theme are you attempting to import demo content for and how did you attempt the import, was it created by the theme author?
Hi @ecoist
Thank you again for getting back to us and sharing your point of view in more detail.
We understand your concerns and have shared them with our team, so we can continue looking into adjusting this in a future release.
Hi?@ecoist
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and we apologize for the confusion.
To directly address your concerns, the options to install WPForms and AIOSEO as additional plugins are only available in our Setup Wizard and only if one or more of the below options are left checked during the setup process:
- Improve your SEO rankings with the All in One SEO plugin.
- Create beautiful contact forms with just a few clicks.
Once a specific option is selected and that plugin is not currently installed, we have corresponding text that relates to that particular plugin. For example, if “Improve your SEO rankings with the All in One SEO plugin” is selected, this text will appear “The following plugin will be installed for free: AIOSEO”
Our intention was to provide great starter tools for popular/related needs while keeping the option to uncheck or uninstall if anyone was already using an alternative.
Hi?@pitlamgi
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and we apologize for the confusion.
The lite version of WP Mail SMTP still has the functionality that it has had for quite some time now. Is there a specific aspect of WP Mail SMTP that has changed that caused it to no longer be the best in your eyes?

Hi?@yourautisticlife
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and we apologize for the confusion.
As a quick test, I had gone through our Setup Wizard on a test installation and the checkbox and installation text still appear when WPForms or AIOSEO have not already been installed.
We’re sorry to hear that this has caused you to consider using a different SMTP plugin.
As mentioned in our other review related to this, our intention was to provide great starter tools for popular/related needs while keeping the option to uncheck or uninstall if anyone was already using an alternative.
For reference purposes I’ll include this excerpt from previous reviews related to our Setup Wizard:

Hi?@enkirch,
For consistency’s sake, I’m sharing David’s reply from your thread.
“Thanks for reaching out, and I do apologize for the delay with this issue. Our developers are aware of the issue and we’ve shared your post with them. For now, what we can suggest is to disable these types of notices until we can push out a fix for the issue.”
Please know that we are aware of the issue, but we have not rolled out the update as yet due to the compatibility issue I mentioned previously.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience. Once we’ve rolled out the fix for this, we’ll be sure to include it in our changelog.
You’re welcome, glad we could help ??
Thanks for reaching out and we apologize for the delay.
Please note that the error message you are getting is coming from your SMTP hosting provider.
The times we have seen this error, it usually indicates that the SMTP credentials for your server is incorrect. And because of this, the SMTP server you’re trying to connect to is rejecting it.
When you get a chance, please double-check the credentials you’re using with the SMTP connection to be sure it’s correct.
Also please know, that the Other SMTP mailer option does not use a dedicated API, which can lead to potential errors based on your website hosting/SMTP settings.
In cases where ongoing issues arise while using the Other SMTP mailer, we generally recommend switching to a transactional mailer option (it’s all mailers except the Other SMTP and Default (none) option).
Here’s our documentation with all the mailers and how to set them up:?https://easywpsmtp.com/categories/docs/mailers/
I hope this helps! If you have any questions, could you please let me know?
Thanks! ??
