In reply to: Plugins admin page empty after 3.1 upgradeWent to cPanel, renamed Plugins folder to Plugins1, Created new plugins folder.
Tested function by adding a new plugin (this worked fine and appeared on list)
then copied plugins in folders in batches of 4-5 from plugins1 to plugins in cpanel, and went to plugins page to test functionality.
In the end htey all copied across OK, so now I am activating them one by one to see what is causing the problem.Still no sitewide tag function, but I’ve heard there is a problem with that so I’m not so worried, just glad to have my plugins back!

In reply to: Main blog empty: Site Wide Tags or DB issue?Sometimes I get this error when I try to populate posts
This webpage has a redirect loop

In reply to: Main blog empty: Site Wide Tags or DB issue?I’ve tried dropping the number of posts to 10 and removing options like images. Once it didn’t time out but instead went back to page but with the plugin disabled again.

In reply to: Main blog empty: Site Wide Tags or DB issue?I checked the site.com/tags page too: nothing there.

In reply to: Main blog empty: Site Wide Tags or DB issue?OK, so re-reading that error message I realised sitewide tags used to be in the mu folder, so I’ve removed that one, (still no posts) uninstalled the new version, reinstalled it, and now I have the admin menu for SW tags.
When I try to save the settings or populate the blog, the screen goes white and nothing happens: when I reload the pages, the changes haven’t been saved (so it seems like this isn’t working)
BUTI also did a test post to the main blog and it isn’t taking any posts (says 0 posts and doesn’t show up)
So it seems like sitewide tags wasn’t working bc in wrong folder but also I just can’t post (plus there are no plugins showing)
ARRRRGH, upgrades!

In reply to: Main blog empty: Site Wide Tags or DB issue?I should add when I remove the plugin via cPanel (because I have no plugin control) and re-install it I get this error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sitewide_tags_update_options() (previously declared in /home/dallasm/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/sitewide-tags.php:106) in /home/dallasm/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags/sitewide-tags.php on line 299

In reply to: Site not loading including wp-adminThanks, keesiemeijer, I must have fixed this as you typed.
I had edited the functions.php file and left a blank line: can’t believe it killed my wp-admin page too though: that really sucks.
This post helped me too

Hi,
I’m struggling with this plugin too: will be great if it works!
Be aware of a couple of things:
You need to add the site like you are another user: ie don’t do it from the super admin or admin panels: otherwise you don’t see the options to add new site: which look something like this.Select the type of blog you would like to create:
Social Site (this is one I’ve added)
Default
Unformatted Site, best for advanced users who already have experience with WordPress.
Select the feature set you want for your blog:
Social features (this is one I’ve added)Having said that, I can’t post to my new sites even though they are created with all the right themes, widgets etc so I can’t help you beyond that, I just know for a long time I thought the plugin wasn’t doing anything at all bc I always created sites from the superadmin screen.
Hope this helps, sorry if I didn’t really attend to your question and details though.Forum: Networking WordPress

In reply to: Widgets etc for new sitesI’d like to be able to add a widget to some of my blogs in bulk: eg links or a RSS feed.
I guess hardcoding them in my them might be a way, but I’m still learning to read code and thus choosing the right spot can be hard (I’m using 2010 weaver theme which is a bit more complex than most, esp in the loop)
Thanks for the quick reply

In reply to: Subdomain posts displayed on homepage, can't editOK Thanks, I guess I was just confused because when I clicked on edit it took me to the main sites edit page.
Now I review the WP MU tags plugin it makes sense.
can you think why my posterous entries wouldn’t work? They seem to default to the permalink being to the main page:
IE: Posterous post to subdomain.example.com produces a post subdomain.example.com/date/title but appear on main page with permalink
example.com/date/title so when people click on it it gives a 404 error.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Subdomain posts displayed on homepage, can't editOK, I had uninstalled and reinstalled WP multiuser sitewide tags pages and not put it back into mu-plugins
However problem still remains, if I click “edit” on the main page, it takes me to the main page dashboard, and lets me edit the post, then says “post updated” but when I view or navigate to the page, it takes me to the subdomain/date/postname address with the un-edited post. Maybe this is just how it is: can’t edit from main page (note these are all my own blogs, not someone elses.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Subdomain posts displayed on homepage, can't editHi, thanks, I had installed Wp multisite.
I can’t seem to find a control panel for it or anything. Turning it off stops the permalinks on the main page redirecting to the subdomains, so it seems to be what is controlling the front page posting.
Have updated it with no obvious changesForum: Plugins

In reply to: Subdomain posts displayed on homepage, can't editHi Andrea, sorry not to mention this: I’ve been using sitewide tags so long I forgot they were what was giving me this functionality.
