In reply to: [DBC Backup 2] [Plugin: DBC Backup 2] Can't log in to admin panelHi Squid
Suggest you FTP to your site and rename
themes
folder tothemes.old
and create a new folder calledthemes
You should now be able to get to
wp-admin
and you can then install the WordPress Twenty Eleven theme and check that everything is working fine.BTW … one of the most common issues you can have with WordPress are from themes, using old themes or making changes to your theme files.

In reply to: [DBC Backup 2] [Plugin: DBC Backup 2] Can't log in to admin panelHi Squid
First .. sorry you seem to be having issues with your new build of WordPress. Does the problem go away if you remove those lines from the .htaccess?
I’d be confident that the problem is not with DBC Backup 2 – because it sounds like you did the right thing in the .htaccess file – but did you then change the Permissions to something too restrictive (ie 400 instead of 664/ 667) see also https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/58391/is-moving-wp-config-outside-the-web-root-really-beneficial/58820#58820
Second … you can always FTP into your site and rename the plugins folder to
plugins.old
and create a new folder calledplugins
— or if you prefer, just delete the DBC-Backup 2 folder.Let me know what you changed as I’d believe its not in DBC-Backup
hope that helps?

Hi Mika
it’s this page in the Codex
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_Multisite
I think I’ll add a comment at the end to only change home and siteurl for sub-domains at your own risk and mention the broken http// http;// bug
It’s a fixed IP I put in there
anyway … i know its a small bug – – but just incase someone else starts talking about broken links for Network Admin maybe they have been changing top level domains and siteurl and homeurl like me ??
Cheers
Damien
HI Mika
nah — I was not trying to map my top level domain (I tried that previously and found the domain mapping plugin wouldn’t accept that).
Checkout this tut (step 5) which *might* have been where I read up on changing network settings > sites > site url
https://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/wordpress-multisite-beyond-basics-essentials-and-domain-mapping/
I’m sure there is some mention in the Codex about siteurl and homeurl for network settings – I’m going go trawl through it til I find it.
Cheers

In reply to: Using Isotope Filtering with Portfolio Custom Post TypeHi Lorant
Thanks for the reference to my Isotope post on how to use Data-Filter
The main point I’d add is that the filters are CasE sensitive like so
<ul id="options"> <li><a href="#" data-filter="*">show all</a></li> <li><a href="#" data-filter=".web">web</a></li> <li><a href="#" data-filter=".mobile">mobile</a></li> </ul>
And also the Isotope example javascript doesn’t work as jQuery runs in no conflict mode.
Hi again
sorry been out of town for a short break
In answer to your question … yes if I leave “network admin > site > settings” alone, the URL is
damien.co/wp-admin/network
and nothttps://damien.co/wp-admin/network
?screenshot here … https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1139278/URL%20link%20damien.JPG
so this is a small typo-bug with WordPress core I think.
So coming back to the other WP user (and my concern) … if you change the home and site URL for a sub-site you end up with this broken link with http// and not https://
Hi Mika
Yeh … changing that back to subdomain.domain.co fixes the issue with http//
the link for network admin changes back to damien.co/wp-admin/network
so there is a ‘bug’ in there somewhere … if you change the network > site ?settings domain then the Network admin link looks like http//damien.co/wp-admin/network
Note the difference in the 2 URL’s
Is this a WP bug or a Domain Mapping unexpected ‘feature’
cheers
Damien
Hi Scribu
thanks for the quick answer — I think it will also help other visitors to the plugins website to know that PNA is still needed
Cheers
Damien
Hi Daniel
thanks for the quick response as I really like the plugin you’ve made.

In reply to: [DBC Backup] [Plugin: DBC Backup] Restore a Backup?Hi there
I’ve been using DBC Backup for 2+ years and its probably the best plugin around ??
because it is simple and saves the backups to the server
damien
Hi there
I’m having the same problem with Firefox (the input field is so small) and Chrome (not being able to type or paste any data)
Cheers
Damien
I really like this too .. I’ve been waiting for this plugin to have ‘include categories’
If you need any one to test this please let me know ??
BUT I’d like this to be a multi-widget so that I can use it on my home page, footers or other widget areas
Im having the same issue with this plugin it seems to only want to download the ‘latest’ v3.2
and the link to the nightly builds is going to an invalid page
eg https://www.ads-software.com/nightly-builds
cheers
Damien
Hi Joost
I’m also having this problem with the plugin across all my domains as I use google apps for email
Can you let me know if this gets fixed up please?
cheers
