Adding to above, I have run a speed test, which came out fast, and tried with several devices via cell and home wifi, and still get the 408 error.

I am having the same issue and I have hosting with NameCheap also.
I’m a beginner, but I took a peak at the code as suggested in the post reference above (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/password-protected-plug-in-408-request-time-out/) and could not find the referenced code at line 115 nor anywhere else.
I’m suspecting it is for an older version??

I am running 2011 Theme and everything is updated. This started when I activated the plug in Password Protected.

Any thoughts?

I had a different email address in the General section.

Is there a single place to allow comments globally (as default)?

I will check that address. Comment moderation is turned on. I have comments set to Off on all but one post.

Thank you so much for your reply. I awoke to a large collection of posts having been posted.

It appears all my emails were received and sitting on the server.
The tech had said they were logged, not sure if he could see them still there. Anyway, I have Postie set to remove the email once it posts.

The bottom line is it is working as designed now.
