In order to change the homepage, go to your Admin Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading. From the dropdown, select the page you want to be your new homepage.

Hestia should work fine with the Classic Editor. Can you, please, change the theme and then change it back with Hestia? Or switch to Blocks Editor and then back with Classic Editor.
Also, it would be very helpful to us if you can provide a screenshot of how the Classic Editor looks like exactly.
