In reply to: CSS and catagoriesCool, indeed. Flippin’ huzzah, is what I say.
I’ve been using AsideShop for some time now and have recently begun to wish I could do more with it. It was a blessing but it also tended to get in the way in certain situations. As much functionality as it gave, it also could take some away.
This solution works great so far. Thanks for the PHP skillz.

In reply to: Date Not Displayed on All AsideShop PostaThanks!
Just in case it is not easy to find, here is my website.

In reply to: [Plugin: AsideShop] Request for ideasI can see what cally means about the relationship between asides and tweets. I have integrated my Twitter posts into my blog and have them formatted – using a combination of asideshop and Twitter Tools – much like my link posts that I have used asideshop to style. I think that using Twitter Tools by itself or in conjunction with asideshop or by itself is the way to go for cally.

In reply to: No Scroll for Me With WriteScrollI am using version 2.5.1.
I don’t see any plug-ins that might interfere with WriteScroll. I will have to deactivate some plug-ins and see what happens.

In reply to: [Plugin: AsideShop] Request for ideasGood point. Any way to spec a unique custom template for posts on a type of page i.e. the permalink page?

In reply to: [Plugin: AsideShop] Request for ideas1. Didn’t really understand your saying about formatting of permanent pages.
If I create a look for a certain kind of post (for instance for my link posts, which are given a solid color background as well as a “cut-out” background image placed in the upper left) …
- The post as it sits on the front page has a distinctive look: <https://danmarkham.net/more/images/link-post-example.png>.
- With the new version AsideShop the archives pages and post category pages for that post retain the distinctive look: <https://danmarkham.net/category/link-posts/>
… but …
- The distinctive look is lost on a post’s permalink page: <https://danmarkham.net/link-posts/35-by-derek-powazek/>
In fact the permalink page is the only place it is now impossible to implement a custom look as it defaults back to the standard post look of one’s chosen theme.
Would it be possible, in some future version of AsideShop, to retain the distinctive look I give to any particular type of post even on the permalink page?

In reply to: Coming Back Home: How to Import my Posts From Chyrp to WordPressThat is an idea. Might be worth a try for anyone who is running into the same problem. Oh slambert, where were you when I needed you? =-)

In reply to: [Plugin: AsideShop] Request for ideasJust installed the new version of AsideShop. Love the addition of the ability to show the formatting on a variety of page types (i.e. archive pages, etc.).
Wishes:
- Ability to preserve formatting on permalink pages (maybe with the ability to spec a custom permalink page style as well i.e. a style for video posts and a style for the permalink page for video posts)
- Ability to show tags and categories on the formatted post (I know this has been mentioned but I just thought I would add my name to the list =-) )
This plug-in was an awesome find. Thanks for all the hard work.

In reply to: Using Lightbox Plus with 2.5.1I’m an eeeeeeeediot!
I think the last time I updated the Lightbox Plus plugin I failed to re-upload the necessary files from the lightview page
It works. It fixes the Lightbox Plus plugin (which is what I was looking for) plus it adds lightbox functionality to my de facto WordPress 2.5 galleries (added benny!).

In reply to: Using Lightbox Plus with 2.5.1This mod is not working for me. I am still getting just the image instead of the lightbox view. It is not taking me to the file’s page or anything like that but the lightbox function is not working.

In reply to: Playin’ With AsideShopThe template I am using seems to place the date on every post so I have ruled that out.
Just to eliminate any confusion, I meant theme above not template and It is DePo Skinny that I am using as the basis of my custom theme.

In reply to: Playin’ With AsideShopSounds like you got it, actually. I thought it was some sort of a date bug in WordPress but it appears that, for me, using the %post_date% template tag is placing the date only on the first post of a given day and not on the others. It only affects AsideShop posts. Check it out.
It’s like I’ve accidentally stumbled on a way to solve @presta’s problem =-)
The template I am using seems to place the date on every post so I have ruled that out.
Any ideas?

In reply to: Playin’ With AsideShopIs there a way to get the date to show on every post instead of just the first post of a specific day?

In reply to: Coming Back Home: How to Import my Posts From Chyrp to WordPressSo, the RSS feed import method worked…sort of.
It appears (and makes sense if it is so) that in order for the posts imported via the RSS feed method to work the original posts from which they are pulled must remain where they are. As I decided to move from one host to another it was simply not possible to do so (the content in Past Work was pulled from ohdanny.net when that domain resided on another host’s servers. who wants to pay for two hosting providers if they don’t have to?).
Alas, it means that if I want consistency, if I want all the images to show like they did formerly I will need to re-upload everything. Such is life, I suppose.

In reply to: Playin’ With AsideShopOne thing, though – currently I’m not planing to add tags which take arguments, like %post_date format=”d-m-Y”%.
Does that mean that I cannot add the date at all or just that I cannot change the formatting for the date from the default?
