I am also saving new buttons and finding they no longer list in numerical order, the new ones randomly listed.

Oh have tried activating and re-activating but I only go a small % of my buttons back. I use a lot for linking to my hotel affiliates Any help appreciated as this a lot of work to restore and it has lost all my call to actions for booking…many thanks

Heart in the old mouth stuff when noticed this template error this morning, but the update seems to have solved things.

It’s hard hard work with these updates just pushed out by wordpress – sure they are for the best but for developers, it’s got to be a nightmare and maybe we should be a bit more grateful when using these free plugins.

So thank you for dealing with this so quickly at nextgen.

I don’t know whether it might help your thinking on this, but when I set up a dev site and imported my database etc, the same thing did happen – sidebars all there, custom menus, nextgen galleries (from their widgets), php widget but not the text widgets.

So it does seem there is something that is not quite right with the text widgets and a plugin/your plugin.

Thankfully, on my live site, I have not any re-occurences, but in the past it was always random and totally unexpected.

I have tried every which way to get this working too, but now I know I have not missing something. I am sure that in researching things I saw somewhere that lightbox type effects will only work in the head…

When you say performance wise, do you mean it will cause a noticeable lag on loading (uncached) pages?

Am I still getting performance improvements (for sure removal of blocking etc in pagespeed) by using js in the head or am I in reality slowing my whole site down?

I am using the nextgen gallery plugin, with fancybox as its light box effect – found in other options.

I have played around more and it seems that as long as force into head is enabled, it will work. Other options are not necessary (i.e. look only in head), though I was enabling this for reasons of the cache maybe getting too big…

I did try that originally on its own and then added it to the list as well, but again, no luck.

It will only work with force into head/look for scripts in head checked, not by adding exclusions?

I’m sure it is not vital but a puzzle!

Updated to latest nextgen version, 2.0.65 on my dev site and problem solved and then updated my live site and again problem solved. Fingers crossed no other problems as a result of the update.

So I can now upload images again. Happy.

This also solved some other nextgen gltiches and bugs, though I still cannot insert a featured image from nextgen, just get a greyed out box that closes when you try and do anything – I guess start a new topic for that.

And custom css does not work, but I overwrite the core css files, so not really a problem – I keep the originals in case of probs! Again a new topic…

But thsnks for the help and pleased I didn’t need to bother the debugging guys.

Thanks for the reply, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, seemed to miss it…

The only widgets not affected are custom menus. I dynamically place widgets in the custom sidebars using the plugin dynamic widgets but widgets that I have no need to dynamically place as their custom sidebar only features on that page (i.e. the home) are also affected.

I cannot be 100% sure but I think it is normally a problem that occurs if I update a widget on the home page. It is completely random and not every time, as I do this every day – a personal weather update, for example and it has only happened a few times over the last months.

Any more info, just holler but hopefully I have addressed your first questions

I have still not got round to the bug report, sorry about that, problem still there though.

I am getting round the problem with ftp and upload folder for new galleries and with existing galleries, ftp direct to the existing gallery folder, scan for new images within the gallery which adds it and creates thumbnails – it works very well.

What you have to be careful to do is name the files etc exactly before the process starts and maybe also use a photo editing program to change the image date, as the scan does not use today’s, but from the photo meta data – for me not a problem, but maybe important for others.

Thanks for getting back to me – I can confirm that baseline condition tested and still the browser does not have flash etc. Did you alo notice that I added using set nextgenas featured image has stopped working too.

I have used grapehene with nextgen for over a year with no probs.

I first noticed these problems after updating to wordpress 3.9

I did install breadcrumbs navxt recently, which asks to modify settings?

Can supply full list of plugin-ins or log in details for your team as required.

me too since my upgrade to 3.9.

Updating the page will mean that the box goes away and it does still all appear to work but …
