Thank you for your helpful response.

I don’t have that Link Settings section in the right sidebar that those posts describe. However, I did find the same functionality via a link icon on top of the image block, where you select “Link to Media file”.

This is annoying because I have to do it for every image, but at least it works. Thanks again.

Update: the problem was indeed mixed content. I had changed the domain, and references to the old one (non-HTTP) were scattered across the database.

No, it’s not… I merely mentioned it so people could understand the [xml] tags.

I figured it out… CDATA was being filtered by the web application firewall on the server.

Seems to be something from my web hosting provider, because it also happens with my non-WordPress sites. And it happens only from social media – accessing the sites via browser or Fiddler does not trigger the 302 redirect.
