In reply to: [Track The Click] Tracking Clicks which refer to my own domain@kilmulis Do you see any errors in the browser’s console when looking at the stats graph? If you can see the AJAX request for the graph’s content in the network tab, what’s the return from that?
Alternatively, if you’d be willing to temporarily create an admin user that I could log in as and take a look, that’d be great – email [email protected] if that’s something you’d be happy to do. Same offer to you, @chrissard.

/wp-content/plugins/track-the-click/public/js/track-the-click-public.js
/wp-content/plugins/track-the-click/public/js/track-the-click-ga.jsIs the plugin you’re using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/sg-cachepress/ ? We’ll take a look at the problem and see if we can resolve the conflict; thanks for letting us know.

In reply to: [Track The Click] Tracking Clicks which refer to my own domainHi Kilmulis. Are you saying that the exclude list is empty but then the home URL is added to the list again?

In reply to: [Track The Click] Tracking Audio Player Block clicksTrack The Click is only able to record clicks made on links on your site – if a link is sent to someone it will not show in the stats. Looking at your site, clicks on the “play” button on your audio files also won’t be recorded as they’re not links.
I think you’ll need a more traditional web statistics tool that will look at and analyse your server’s log files.
I’ve got it but I’m afraid it doesn’t offer any help with working out what’s going on with your clicks not showing. I clicked on an advert link on your site and can see your site confirming the click has been tracked so that data is definitely being captured and it looks like this is a display issue. With that click that should be showing in the graph confirmed from my side, could you have another look and just make sure that the graph is still showing as flat 0?
It’ll be the log file generated by your web server (usually apache or nginx). That might be the error_log file you refer to – if you’d like to you can email it to [email protected] as above and I’ll see if it gives any clues about the problem.
Thanks for the screenshots. Do you have access to your web server’s error logs? Are you seeing any errors show there when you access the clicks page?
Hello,
Thanks for trying out Track The Click.
That release was a while ago – the bug that was happening then has been fixed. Are you running the latest 0.3.2 version? If you’re still seeing something, please confirm that you’re seeing clicks in the dashboard’s quick stats but not through the clicks page of the plugin?
If you only want to see outbound links, you should make sure your site’s URL is listed in the Exclude URLs list under the plugin’s Settings -> Other tab.

This bug has been fixed and will be included in the next release.
The fact clicks are showing in the dashboard widget is great – it means the clicks are being tracked, so the “frontend” of the plugin is working fine.
I can’t see your dashboard and Track The Click’s Clicks page, which makes debugging that for you a bit tricky. Are you able to share what the JavaScript error in the console is? Perhaps even what the 500 error is from your server’s logs? If there’s any information you’d prefer to share privately, you can email me on [email protected]
Thanks Frank, that’s really useful.
The only JavaScript error I can see relates to some code you have added through HFCM under

@dom-verde I think the issue you’re having is that you’re not seeing clicks within your website thought Track The Click’s interface within your dashboard. By default, they are excluded. To include them in your report, remove your domain from the Exclude URLs list under the plugin’s Settings -> Other tab. Also reported at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dashboard-report-different-to-more-report/ – clearly we need to do a better job of explaining this within the plugin ??

I’ve had a look at your site but it looks like Track The Click is disabled (or at least the tracking is from its settings page) at the moment so I can’t really test it. Do you have a staging area or something similar where you could activate the plugin so I could see the problem happening? If so, please could you also disable Autoptimize on that? It makes the code a little harder to read.

In reply to: [Track The Click] display number of clicks next to each link?It would have been in 0.3.2 but I didn’t choose the right option when preparing 0.3.1 so it snuck in before it was supposed to be released ??

In reply to: [Track The Click] display number of clicks next to each link? This wasn’t supposed to be released with 0.3.1, which just came out, but it got left in by accident. If you’d like to try it out, enable “Display click counts” under the Other tab of the plugin’s settings.
Feedback welcome!

In reply to: [Track The Click] Dashboard report different to “more” reportThe report pages by default only include outbound links. You can customise this (eg. to include internal links) from the plugin’s settings page, with the Exclude URLs list under the Other tab. If you want to see internal links in your reports, just remove your site’s address from the box.
