Meanwhile I tried to google the problem, and the solution is in short:
1. Create a new Category for the slider in Posts -> Categories
2. Then go to Appearance -> Customize. If you go to Customize -> Theme Settings -> Home Page Slider you will see a setting called Slider Categories… This is where you will enter the ID of the new category you added for your slider posts.
