In reply to: [Yoast SEO] How long does it take for tags to be deindexed?Hi Jeroen,
thank you for your quick response. Yeah, sure. Here’s one example: https://passportsymphony.com/tag/uzbekistan/. When I do a search for site:passportsymphony.com/tag this is the first thing that appears but there are a lot of others too. All of them lead to 404 pages.
When I put any of these tags in my Webmaster Inspect URL tool, I get a result that ‘URL is on Google’ (Indexed but not submitted in sitemap). However, when I choose ‘live testing URL’, it shows that the link does lead to a 404 error.
As per your questions, this is how I de-indexed the tags. I went to Yoast–> Search Appearance–>Tags–>Show Tags in search results? -NO; SEO Title- EMPTY, Meta Description- EMPTY; Yoast Metabox- HIDE.
Is that how it should be done?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] What happens when I nofollow links if…Thank you for these articles but I already read these and many more on the Yoast website and I understand the meaning of the things mentioned in the article. My question here refers to Yoast working with another plugin and I’m curious to know what happens in a scenario in which I use a nofollow plugin for all posts.
Let’s say I exclude post ABC from the nofollow-all-external-links plugin’ rules and go to ABC post and mark it as nofollow in Yoast’s advanced section. Will all links be nofollowed by search engines when I do that? Is it possible to receive a manual penalty from Google for a post in which the links are marked as nofollow by Yoast’s advanced section?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] What happens when I nofollow links if…Alright, thank you for clarifying that. It seems like too extreme though.
If I keep using the nofollow external links plugin but exclude the post(s) with a link to xyz.com from the plugin’s influence and choose the nofollow option in the Yoast plugin, will search engines ignore the link in that case?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] What happens when I nofollow links if…Or alternatively, what if I exclude the post with a link to xyz.com from the plugin’s influence and choose the nofollow option in the Yoast plugin? Will search engines ignore the link then (the reason for me asking this is getting rid of some links that should remain on the website but could potentially lead to a manual penalty)?

In reply to: [External Links - nofollow, noopener & new window] Encoding issuegood to know, thank you.

In reply to: [External Links - nofollow, noopener & new window] Encoding issueNo, it doesn’t, and maybe it has nothing to do with it but I’m just trying to figure out where the issue came from. I didn’t make any significant changes except for installing this plugin, so I wanted to know if you ever had a similar experience in the past but if you didn’t, perhaps it’s something else…

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] How to access the old ‘Advanced Settings’ in a post?Thank you for your response. That’s how it used to be but after the latest plugin update, I don’t see the ‘advanced’ option anymore. All I see is ‘SEO Analysis’, ‘Add related keyphrase’ and ‘Cornerstone content’. Is this a glitch or some changes have been made to the plugin and if so, where do I access these settings?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Error on Yoastthat’s strange… I’m afraid I don’t know. When I did the above it worked for me but perhaps your problem is caused by something else.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Error on YoastDeactivating all the plugins solves this temporarily. I believe it was an issue with Thrive themes/builder but with the latest update, it seems like the issue has been fixed.
