I see googlebot crawling my site all the time during the day, but it only visits this new sitemap once per day. Is that normal?

Since I’ve installed this plugin I’ve only now seen the Googlebot visit the sitemap once, and that was at 2 am. I haven’t seen it all day after that. With my other sitemap I saw the Googlebot all the time, but I don’t know what is best practice or what is normal?

Edit: I see it has visited my old sitemap (which I have removed) like 10+ times today.

Thank you @soberbanda I will have a look. It sucks that it’s so easy to mirror a website. What’s even more disturbing is that Google allows it to rank so easily and once it ranks, it’s almost impossible to get the site removed from Google. It’s like they don’t care. It’s literally like speaking to a wall.

Ah, the “sby_videos” option is probably added by my Youtube video plugin as a custom post type.

May I also ask, is this sitemap just as effective as any other sitemap in getting the website indexed? In that sense it doesn’t differ from any other sitemap?

I mean the setting under custom post type “sby_videos”. What is that? I choose exclude and now I get no error in console.

Also, can I change /xmlsitemap.xml to /mysitemap.xml if I want to?

When I block their IP, their site goes down (403). So it has at least temporarily solved the problem. I just want to prevent this from happening again.
