Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Media Library won’t show imagesYeah that’s the problem.
I upgraded WordPress for sure after the migration. Not sure if I did that before or not.
That post doesn’t offer solutions though.
Is there any step-by-step process on what to check?

In reply to: Media Library won’t show imagesSo here’s the path:
https://redemptionwels.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/635665993352.jpg
…Now when I go to /wp-content/uploads/ in my File Manager in cPanel, no such directory exists.
So we’ve found the problem.
Now…how to fix?
Thanks for your help,
Dan
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Media Library won’t show imagesYes. But I’ve also tried uploading new images post-migration with no success, if that makes a difference.
Thoughts?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Media Library won’t show imagesOk. So I checked the permissions for wp-content/uploads and I have 0755 for all directories and subdirectories. And I have 0644 for all files.
I’m not sure if this was ever working before.
Running WP 4.9.8
I just tried uploading a couple test images, and the same issue with those.
Site address: https://redemptionwels.com
The site was moved from an a previously obscure local/regional host to Bluehost.
Thanks for your help,
Dan

In reply to: .htaccess help – 301 redirects not workingThanks for your help everyone. It turned out to be a quirk with Bluehost. You have to use their redirect tool through cPanel.
And the syntax to redirect ended up looking like this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^freelancewriterinchicago\.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.freelancewriterinchicago\.com$
RewriteRule ^test\-url\/$ “http\:\/\/www\.freelancewriterinchicago\.com\/b2b\-copywriting\-portfolio\/” [R=301,L]So I’d recommend getting a hold of their support team if you need to do 301 redirects at Bluehost.

In reply to: .htaccess help – 301 redirects not workingI’m sure I’m doing this wrong. Where should the backticks go?
Like so:
# begin 301 redirects for blog/website
Redirect 301 /seo-copywriting-services/professional-small-business-blogger-service/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/professional-small-business-blogger-ghostwriter-service/ Redirect 301 /seo-copywriting-services/professional-ghostwriting-service/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/business-copywriting-services/professional-ghostwriting-service/ Redirect 301 /why-and-how-to-become-a-thought-leader-through-blogging/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/how-to-become-a-thought-leader-by-blogging/ Redirect 301 /am-i-a-good-fit-for-you/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/are-my-b2b-copywriting-services-a-good-fit-for-you/ Redirect 301 /about-freelance-copywriter-in-chicago/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/about-B2B-copywriter-Dan-Stelter/ Redirect 301 /website-copywriting-service-portfolio/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/b2b-copywriting-portfolio/ Redirect 301 /test-url/ https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/b2b-copywriting-portfolio/
At the beginning and end of the code block there? Or how? Your help is much appreciated.

In reply to: Background images broke with Parallax scrollingGreat thanks. I’ll try those and get back to you here so if others have the same problem they have a solution.
Worse comes to worse, I have to use alternative caching plugins. Do you have a link to some alternatives that do the same thing?
Thanks so much for your help!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Background images broke with Parallax scrollingFound it after getting help from StudioPress (finally). It was W3 Total Cache plugin!
Site works fine now. But I need to get caching working again. I get the impression StudioPress will work on this and get it fixed. Not sure on the timeframe though.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Background images broke with Parallax scrollingNo, I was curious what to do next because I wasn’t clear this is a plugin issue. After all, I got a different error when disabling all plugins.
So do you think I should still go through that process? I’m a noob at this, so I defer to your opinion.
Thanks,
Dan

In reply to: Background images broke with Parallax scrollingOkay, so when I do that, here’s what happens:
https://www.freelancewriterinchicago.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/snag.gy-image.png
The 2 background images that normally disappear now appear. So that’s great.
BUT, the original home section you first see when you visit my website gets squished to two inches high so you can’t see any of it. Check the screenshot to see what I mean.
