    Cais,

Switching to the Twenty theme (where the galleries appeared and then back to the Target theme, where they also now appear, seems to have done at least half of the trick.

The only problem that remains is that the images don’t appear in the thumbnail grid format that opens up into a slideshow with descriptions as I had before.

Perhaps I don’t have the Gallery settings set properly. I thought I had tried them all, but to no avail.

Also, I’ve noticed that the entire site seems to take a very long time to load/open in the browser.

I have contacted my WordPress guru to see if he can help, but if you can offer any suggestions I’d be very grateful.

Thanks for your help so far.

    Cais,

The problem of the slideshow continues. I have re-uploaded the images and re-created the gallery, however, I cannot get the new gallery to show up either in the “edit page” part of my dashboard, nor on the page.

As far as I can tell there are no other conflicts with other plug-ins. Perhaps there is a conflict with the settings I am using to create the gallery. Once I have inserted the NextGen gallery onto the page and created those settings I get a “missing” icon (you know, the blue square with the question mark in it).

I have called the gallery “print design”. Can there be a space in the name?

I select the NextGEN Basic Image Browser and the print design gallery.

I select “no” on the enable AJAX pagination option and select NextGEN:image browser-caption.php option

    Then I hit save.

Of the 6 or 7 times I’ve tried this, only once has the actual gallery appeared on the edit page, and then only for a second, and then it disappeared.

Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Darryl

Hi Cais, Thanks for your quick response.

I went back and uniformly sized the thumbnails and that did the trick.

However, I am still having problems getting the images to ImageBrowser mode once clicked. They just open the full size jpeg in the browser window.

I looked for conflicts with other plugins and could not see any, but I am admittedly not fluent in WP, so I probably would not recognize any conflicts in the code.

I have not swapped themes to Twenty for fear of losing some customizations I made.

Would it make sense to simply re-create the gallery.

    Thanks,
    Darryl

In addition, I’ve also noticed that since I upgraded both WordPress and the NextGen plug-in, clicking on the images doesn’t open them in a slideshow, but rather just as the image in a new window.

I had a very similar experience. Their support team, it should be noted, DOES NOT WORK ON WEEKENDS, and even during the week, their response time is lethargic by general standards. Perhaps its just one person working out of their basement or something, so unless you have a LOT of time to kill, think twice about this product. I went with another product and have had much better results.
