  • Same here. Has it really been nine months since someone looked at this?

It is no longer possible to use Chrome smoothly to edit WordPress websites. Is that acceptable to everyone?

I am doing as you suggest, will let you know.

But this error seems to me to be well below the Theme level, something fundamental in WordPress.

I have tried on this site, and NONE of the Page titles can be updated. Once a Page title is created, it is fixed for all time.

I am using fully-updated WordPress and Atahualpa.

    Tara:

Sorry, I need to be more clear:

    1. The name of the page in the menu is correct, and can be changed.

    See https://www.pacificroyalties.com/library/key-licenses/

    2. The title of the page displayed at the top of the page above is incorrect, and cannot be changed.

Look at the first menu choice under the “Library” top menu. It reads, correctly, “Press Release 12-01-14” yet it leads to a Page with the incorrect title “Pacific Royalties Acquires Key Licenses”

Why? How can I synch these up? In every WP site I’ve ever designed, this connection has been automatic, and there is no problem changing the title of a Page. 4.0.1 may have regressed somehow.

    Thanks for your help —

    Michael

This works, thank you so much! I added a final srtep to your procedure, which is to delete the “Test” page. Didn’t work till I did that.

Go back to https://americachinabridge.com/en/ and see.

I wish I understood why it works.

And why WP itself cannot handle simply deleting a duplicate menu item, without having to fake it out with your backdoor technique.

This would appear to be — dare I say it — a bug?
