Hi and thanks for your reply, but there are no quotes around any of the HTML in the three text widgets, titled Text Widget, Second Text Widget and Third Text Widget. What makes you think there are quotes?

In case anyone has a similar problem, I’ve resolved the problem of “Unknown: charset `ANSI_X3.4-1968′ not supported” by setting the default_charset in php.ini to iso-8859-1.

Unfortunately the problem with the “literal” html tags being saved by the page editor remains.

WPyogi, Thanks for your suggestion. I disabled all plugins but it still acts the same. I then switched to the 2015 theme, but still the same…

WPyogi, I appreciate your help. I do understand that switching between between tabs changes the content, but starting yesterday the editor now treats the text tab content as if it were from the visual tab. Indeed saving from the text tab return to the visual tab.

I have tried turning off the visual editor as you but still keep getting the html rendered as literals upon saving the page.

Is it possible that the other problem I am seeing about “charset `ANSI_X3.4-1968′ not supported, assuming iso-8859-1” could have something to do with this issue?

I tried re-installing wordpress (downloaded a new tar.gz) and copying my wp-config.php file, and the problem still persisted. I am wondering if I somehow got something into the database that is causing these problems…

WPyogi, Thank you very much for your quick response. I looked where you said and indeed can my posts there, but are they still visible to other forum users? I just hope someone will see my posts and be able to provide some insight into the problem I am trying to solve. I’m pretty much still learning wordpress and was enjoying it until this issue came up.

Just to clarify the last <div> should have been composed of the html entity for “less than” as in (if the editor doesn’t change it again) <div>

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
