We did some more investigating and found that this problem is caused by a bug in the free version.

We released version 3.0.13 today to fix the problem.

This problem seems to happen when switching between the free and premium verisons. These plugins weren’t design to work at the same time.

When switching between the premium and free version, you will need to access the newly actived version from the sidebar instead of an open tab. The link from any version becomes invalid once the plugin is deactivated.

Other than making the call-to-action text blank, there is currently no way to remove it from being part of the link. This is currently part of the design and there is no easy way to change this behavior since the link target is the entire text box. The big benefit to this behavior is that there is a very large hit box where is a visitor can click through to another one of your posts to spend additional time on your site.

If you don’t like the translation of ‘READ’ to ‘See also’ then enter anything other than ‘READ’ to get your custom call to action.

What you’re describing as a problem is a feature in our plugin. What sort of resolution are you looking for?

The case sensitive string of ‘READ’ is a special case. It triggers a translation in the language file. If you want to use ‘READ’ then you will need to change the translation in the language file located in ./languages/intelly-related-posts-en_US.po (or en_GB).

The next update will fix this error.

1) There is no ability to target only one category. In general, the aim is to create links that match the categories or tags in the current post.

2) Features in the premium version:
a) Specify class names of div elements that shouldn’t contain links
b) Three new themes
c) Configure hover and link colors
d) Specify custom colors (hex) in the link boxes
f) Modify the css template used in each theme
g) Track link placement statistics

The free version of the plugin doesn’t have the ability to exclude particular categories or tags.

The premium version can exclude links by category and/or tag.

On Dec 8, 2022 we released version 2.0.7 to fix this problem.

Thank you for telling us about features you’d like to see.

Regarding point #2, the premium has detailed link statistic feature that records all link placements for every post. Currently this feature is database intensive so we don’t recommend leaving it enabled all the time, but we would consider optimizing the data collection if there is a demand.

For point #3, what exactly do you want the filter to do? Is it sufficient to call the filter for every link placement with the data about that placement?
