As I said I was getting the same problem with all the plugins so I figured it was irrelevant, but they are Mingle Forum, WP Forum Server and Zingiri Forum. It’s Mingle Forum that I’d like to use if possible though so I’m not as worried about the others.

Also, I’m a bit of a noob to all this so I’ll need a bit of hand-holding. I looked at my permalinks settings, but there didn’t seem to be an option to turn them off. I tried setting it to custom then making the option blank, but then instead of the error message it just went to the homepage and again, nothing was added to the forum.

When I changed the Permalink settings I did get this message at the bottom of the page if it’s any help:

‘If your .htaccess file were writable, we could do this automatically, but it isn’t so these are the mod_rewrite rules you should have in your .htaccess file. Click in the field and press CTRL + a to select all.’

I went ahead and tried it anyway and it worked!

Great, although I haven’t been messing with the CSS myself. There have been a couple of us working on it though, so who knows.

Does it matter where you put this code in the style css though? I’m fairly new to all this although I used to do programming when I was younger.
