Thanks for the info people… much appreciated.
What is confusing me is ‘why are the spammy links only visible in the cached page?’. And it’s only cached pages from Jan 2012 (so far as i can work out) older pages show no links, and the actual pages (not cached) show no links.
am i worrying about something that has been and gone?
