Ok, yeah, its not really the same as what I was asking however JamesICT solved it so easily. Perhaps he should add this to the codex himself as this certainly wasnt there.

Anyway..I WANT to learn wordpress properly, I didnt come on to get everyone to do my work for me, Im doing this cos I do wanna know. Sometimes some things just stump you and Im glad there are people around such as JamesICT in particular as well as omgitztrey and moshu who are prepared to assist, either by pointing me in the right direction or completely solving a brain block like James did without yelling me down.

My problem is solved and it actually assisted me to solve some other issues with another part of the site so I’m moving on.

yeah done that…..Root…your argument is falling apart here. If you are so sure that I have unfairly requested assistance because there are “simple examples in the Codex” then show me where, so that I can apologise profusely to all those who were offended by my request!

well then arent I one out of the box! Id be very interested for you to point me to the place in the codex that does give this example in a clear and concise way….Please, Id love to be proven wrong here

@jamesict: man THANKYOU SO MUCH, I can see where I was going wrong in my code now. I appreciate your help. You know it was the tiniest thing I was getting wrong, and seeing it written in full has solved it for me. IMHO the information re this in the documentation is written very poorly but I think the major issue was my head spinning having only really got into this seriously in the past week.

So CHEERS James, I hope you didn’t feel like I was “making you do my work for me”.

@root: once again bite me, it clearly says I THINK its simple, I was happy to be told it wasn’t. However it appears only YOU think it was difficult..James seemed to have no trouble. perhaps YOU should RTFM and some of the more complex things will become more simple for you. If you need any assistance with this I can recommend JamesICT he seems to know what hes doing!

@root….bite me the codex is confusing for a newbie and, this was a tiny part of the site as a whole site and Ive RTFM over and over…..still confused, I didnt think its was an unreasonable request for assistance. I also direct you to the point in my topic that says “I think” its a simple request, if its not then fine but Im in no position to make that judgement. Apologies if you are so freakin smart u have never requested assistance, take your “holier than thou” attitude and shove it! If you dont know the answer dont bother answering Im not so interested in your crappy opinion! Heres a suggestion you may have heard form your mother.

If you don’t have something decent to say don’t say it!
