  • Hi Frank. Well, it’s always best to have one single markup on a page instead of two or more. So I’d suggest trying to get rid of those extraneous markups that are being added by Yoast and then go with the best one for your business and that best reflects the content on the page.

Hi Frank. You can change the markup that the Yoast plugin creates, but unfortunately it’s not as easy as changing something in the plugin’s dashboard. The plugin files have to be edited in order to change and/or remove the incorrect markups that the Yoast plugin creates (I do this all the time for clients who use Yoast). So the plugin doesn’t necessarily have to be removed, but the files themselves do have to be edited.

Sorry but I hope that helps.

Hi Xavvi. Well, the Yoast plugin is nice in some respects but is the worst when it comes to adding structured data markups to a site. As you can see, it adds unnecessary and usually incorrect markups throughout the site. They can be removed (I do it all the time for my clients), but it involves editing the plugin files.

Another option is to remove the plugin entirely and use a different one for your SEO, then add the markups to your site manually. That’s more work but it’s really the only way to make sure that they are correct and as extensive as you’d like them to be.

    I hope that helps.

kmc, do you know of a site that uses the plugin? I can check it out and see if it does mark up items properly.
