I’m reluctant to do what you are asking, as that would require that I reveal the site’s URL in a public forum. Although this blog will ultimately be for public consumption, I don’t want to draw any public attention to it until I get some very basic stub content up there–and I can’t do that until this problem is fixed. I had hoped this problem might be one of those no-brainer things that everyone who is new encounters and is fixed very easily.
When you host a site with GoDaddy, GoDaddy provides the opportunity to add one of a number of applications to the site. This is done through something that they refer to as cPanel / Installatron. Through cPanel / Installatron, I installed WordPress 6.1.1 on my GoDaddy-hosted site. The next step is to choose a starter template to use with WordPress 6.1.1. A number of options are provided: Keynote, Oliver, Bambino, Barista, …
I chose Keynote as my starter template. The “Media” link which I want to delete–and can’t seem to find a way to delete–is provided as part of the Keynote starter template.
