Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installing WP at root level and have my blog on blog/Hi , I have found the way, i was just not doing it properly:
Once on the WordPress admin area, go to permalinks options:
https://www.davidcarralon.com/wp-admin/options-permalink.php
select the last one: ‘custom structure’ and enter it this way
/blog/%postname%
or if you prefer it like this
/blog/%postname%/
so your blog posts will appear with the forward slash at the end of the url. I wonder myself if both approaches are equally SEO friendly.
I would quite like to add the .htm or .html extension now but if I install the .html plugin, I cant use the custom structure, so best to have urls without extension, that was my compromise. If anyone finds out how to add the .html or whichever extension based on the url structure model outlined on this thread, please go ahead and make a suggestion
cheers
